FOMO WARNING: Bombino’s Blues + Jazz Around Town
Crisp autumn nights, world-class talent, and unique experiences with you right here at 400 Robinson. That’s what we have on our mind as we roll into the first weekend of October.
Friday night promises a powerful performance from the Saharan “Sultan of Shred” Omara “Bombino” Moctar. A Grammy-nominated, renowned talent that only the nomadic Tuareg experience and a love of rock and roll could produce: he taught himself how to play guitar by watching videos of his heroes Jimi Hendrix and Dire Straits. NPR has described his music as “fluid and bluesy, his guitar playing is more than just an agile dance between rhythm and melody. It speaks and breathes across centuries.” We hope to have a packed house for this incredible show! Get your ticket here.
Saturday, enjoy our love letter to October and to local jazz: Pumpkin Jazz. A night full of talented jazz cats, playing around town early evening, until we all converge on TACAW for our annual Pumpkin Jam. Enjoy this FREE chance to celebrate jazz in Willits. Find the full lineup here. We know we said it before, but… be there, or be square.
