Upcoming High-Art Performances

Opportunities to engage with the arts strengthen our community! This week we share highlights of three upcoming events. Each embodies the ethos of our tagline here at TACAW: Bringing Performance to the People. We hope to see you soon!

On Wednesday, March 13th, we welcome the Colorado Shakespeare Festival’s touring program’s performance of William Shakespeare’s enduring tragedy, Romeo & Juliet. Star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet strive for connection in a bitterly divided community. Verona’s youth are forced to bear the burden of their parents’ ancient grudge, an ultimately tragic testimony that “violent delights have violent ends.” This innovative live performance, combined with contemporary research on violence helps students improve their Shakespearean literacy AND learn safe and effective intervention strategies they can use when they see mistreatment happening around them. The performance is appropriate for youth and adults and free with RSVP

Zikr Dance Ensemble then commemorates its 15th Anniversary Season with its newest program, Invocation. This nationally acclaimed company has captivated audiences with its signature blend of enchanting cultural storytelling through dance. Let Zikr’s hypnotic talents show you an elevated dance experience that continues 15 years of movement magic. Enjoy the performance with or without Supper Club on Friday, March 15th.

On May 2nd, you can hear Mozart’s Piano played by renowned Viennese fortepianist Daniel Adam Maltz. He specializes in Wiener Klassik (Viennese Classicism) –  especially the works of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven – performed on the Viennese fortepianos of their time. Daniel made his Carnegie Hall (Weill) debut at age 22 and is in demand worldwide with 50+ tour dates per year as a sought-after soloist, Lieder accompanist, and clinician. Enjoy this uncommon experience with or without Supper Club for the perfect evening of world-class classical music. This remarkable performance is also eligible for the Youth Arts Pass program.

We hope you’ll join us for one, two, or even all three of these unique high-art performances! As always, keep your eye on our events calendar. Shows are added all the time, sometimes without warning!
