Staff Picks To Be Grateful For

Dear TACAW Community,

On behalf of the entire TACAW Board and staff, thank you! We are grateful for the incredible support this community provides our nonprofit. Each of you helps to sustain TACAW through donations and event attendance. Bonus points for those of you that do both! No matter how often you attend or how much you give, you are part of our thriving artistic community. We are lucky to have you.

Along with being grateful for all of you, I have to acknowledge the amazing team here at TACAW. Our Board of Directors is endlessly passionate about our mission. Our full-time staff brings dedication and commitment to their work every day (unless they are on a beach in Mexico… Kendall), which is a joy to see. Finally, our small army of bartenders, production staff, kitchen team, box office associates, and cleaning crew keep the place humming day after day. To all of you, thank you! You are what makes TACAW the special place that it is.

Since Kendall is on the aforementioned beach, I’ve asked our aforementioned staff to share some of their favorite picks for upcoming programming. Here are some upcoming shows they are grateful for:

  • Anna Lohr, Operations Director – “My staff pick is Holiday Jazz. Holiday Jazz is a nice tradition to bring family, friends, and community together. I am really looking forward to a lovely evening and warm atmosphere with the Josefina Mendez Quintet.
  • Jack Trembath, Theater Operations Coordinator – “My staff pick is Consensual Improv. Why? Quite transparently so, I am in the show. And our beloved leader, Ryan Honey, is also in the show! We need you there because if no one is there, then no one will laugh. Or no one will be there to not laugh, so we won’t know we are not funny.  Either way, I think it’ll be a jolly way to kick off the Holiday Season at TACAW.”
  • Art Williams, Education & Community Partnerships Coordinator – “My staff pick is next week’s Equity Speaker series featuring poet Assetou Xongo. This series has been a rich addition to TACAW’s programming, and each of the speakers so far has been so engaging. I am sure the evening will be enriching and educational.”
  • Courtney Sanders, Special Event Manager – “This is easy. My staff pick is our New Year’s Eve Bash with the Lowdown Brass Band.  I can’t think of a better way to ring in the new year, plus it’s my birthday!”
  • Christie Barnes, Donor Relations Director – “My staff pick is Dance Flamenco on Dec. 3rd.  I love Spain and the experience of Flamenco dance & guitar!  We are very fortunate to have Lisa Trujillo & Cajon in-house performing and transporting us to Madrid.”
  • Emily Henley, Social Media Specialist – “My pick is Salsa Night! I love that these are a regular occurrence at TACAW. The energy Claudia and Brian of Mezcla Socials bring to the venue is a blast every time! Plus, who doesn’t love salsa dancing?”

There you have it. Some great picks from some fantastic people. Thanks again for being a part of TACAW. Happy Thanksgiving!
