Sounds of the Season: December Traditions and Memories

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens…  as we dive into a few of *our* favorite things, we hope a cozy evening enjoying great performances is one of your favorite things this winter season!

If stoke is another one of your things, there is still a little time to grab your ticket for the intense visual vertical thrills of the Climbing Film Tour tonight!

This Saturday, our stage will be filled with the glorious sounds of Aspen Choral Society’s 47th annual performance of Handel’s Messiah. Whether this is tradition or a new experience for you, the heavenly strains herald the holidays and are an annual favorite!

After last year’s sold-out celebration of the season, Consensual Improv is bringing back two nights of A Consensual Christmas with more characters, more jokes, and even more hilarity. This mix of original sketch comedy and holiday-themed improv will keep the laughs going all night long like the yule log of yore! A second year and two shows makes this our favorite new tradition. Grab your tickets for Thursday’s show before it sells out like Friday!

The all-ages evening of Holiday Jazz with the Josefina Mendez Quintet presents whimsical and poignant takes on well-loved holiday classics and is sure to be a favorite show for you and yours. Get your tickets today, and get into the swingin’ Yuletide groove!

Help us ring in the New Year right with the most soulful rhythm and blues band this side of the Mississippi at our New Year’s Eve Bash with Rootbeer Richie & The Reveille! This is an epic way to send off 2023 and welcome in 2024, with YOU. That’s definitely our favorite way to spend New Year’s Eve. And ticket prices can’t be beat!

Tradition? We would be remiss to not mention that the world’s oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group The Whiffenpoofs of Yale will again grace 400 Robison on January 5. Singing a mixture of old Yale tunes, timeless jazz standards, and other hits from across the decades, the Whiffenpoofs are a timeless classic. Both Supper Club dinner and show and a la carte tickets are available!

Picky present people in your life? Gift an experience this holiday with tickets to share a show together or a TACAW gift card! As always, keep your eye on our events calendar, you never know what you might find. Shows are added all the time, sometimes without warning!
