Season’s Bleatings!
Hi, everybody,
How’s the holiday hubbub treating you? I’m digging it, for sure. We haven’t decorated at home yet, but early snow, popup stores in Willits, and holiday-themed events at TACAW quickly cured me of that fa-la-la-la-nah feeling. We are closing out 2022 in the best way possible—packed houses. Apologies to those of you who were unable to attend the recently sold-out shows: Immigrant Voices, A Consensual Christmas, and Aspen Choral Society presents Handel’s Messiah. Honestly, I’m feeling more “Sorry, not sorry,” as these fantastic shows deserved the full houses they enjoyed.
If you feel you missed out, we have a few more chances to share cheer at 400 Robinson. Tickets remain for all of these, but the question is for how long.
- Friday brings us our jazzy holiday tradition called, um, Holiday Jazz.
- Saturday is Salsa Night. Mezcla Socials and DJ Juan Bachata (don’t be fooled by his name; he plays all types of Latin dance music) heat up TACAW. Lessons at 8:00 and Social at 9:00.
- New Year’s Eve is going to be a rager. We know this valley loves LowDown Brass Band. We know WE love LowDown Brass Band.
We have a few new events to add for 2023. Specifically, a MAJOR jazz show and two big comedy shows. Get a load of these! And I wouldn’t wait on tickets…
- February 11 – Rainbow Sign – The Music of Ron Miles ft. Brian Blade/Bill Frisell/Jason Moran/Thomas Morgan. In 2022 we lost one of Colorado’s most significant jazz artists. Grammy-nominated trumpeter Ron Miles passed, leaving a legacy of creativity and education that will forever impact the Colorado music scene. Mr. Miles’ recording mates and significant artists in their own right will honor him by presenting his music on this evening.
- February 14 – Comedians Kara Klink and Jared Logan. You know we like comedy on Valentine’s Day. You also know we like married comedians on this particular day. We also have the option to add dinner in the lobby before the show.
- March 18 – Bobcat Goldthwait – Comedian, writer, producer, director, and star of films and television shows who we have watched as his career evolves in the most interesting ways. You snooze, you lose on this one.
Also, for those of you missing Tabl, we did announce Supper Clubs for Jan 4, Jan 18, Feb 1, Feb 22, Mar 1, and Mar 15. Take care of each other out there. We need you all ready for a big 2023!
