ON TO FEBRUARY!
Hi, everybody.
Did you miss us last week? We are back with new events to share, plus some reminders of fun stuff already on the books.
We just announced a terrific fundraiser for the local nonprofit, Huts for Vets. This film event features a new documentary short about John Seipel. John spent many years building and supporting five of the 10th Mountain Huts. There are a few other films on tap for the evening, as well as a silent auction. Join us in supporting this worthwhile cause.
We are also proud to announce a special two-night run of Allan Harris’s amazing theater piece, Cross That River. This show is the perfect blend of music and storytelling about Blue, a run-away slave who flees to Texas where black cowboys are helping to settle the west. Our good friend Lisa Rigsby Peterson of the Wheeler Opera House hosted this production during her time at Lone Tree Cultural Arts Center. She says, “The musicianship was impeccable. The singers completely inhabited the songs and stories they were sharing. And the story itself was one full of discovery, particularly for those who are unaware of this part of American History.’ This show is not to be missed.
To expand our culinary offerings, we recently announced a series of Tuesday Night Dinners with Epicure Catering beginning February 8 (with an Indian-inspired menu). Click here to see the full menu and get tickets for the first dinner or any in the series.
This Saturday, we host Dance Initiative and their current resident dancers, NVA & Guests. These four dancers will share an original work developed during this week’s residency in Carbondale. Hopefully, watching the pros will inspire you to move. We have three opportunities coming up to do so. A dance party with Aspen’s Local Legends, our second salsa night with Mezcla Socials, and Honky Tonkin’ with HWY 82.
AND don’t forget Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. We have a hilarious night planned with husband and wife comedians, Noah Gardenswartz and Ester Steinberg. Don’t make me start sharing the numerous studies linking laughter to amorous endeavors.
Let’s hang out soon!
