Motors + Music + More Events
Hi, everybody.
I love the feeling I get when the folks around me are thriving. If you miss that feeling, I recommend coming to our next Local Comedy Showcase. On Saturday we had a roomful of folks supporting a green room full of comics building a local scene in our valley. Watching them put themselves out there and seeing such a supportive audience show up for them was inspiring.
Don’t miss Motors on Midland at Willits this Saturday. There will be sweet cars, good music, and a great cause! The car show is 4 pm to 7 pm. Blackout plays on the lawn at 5 pm. Derek Brown Band is in the theater at 7 pm. All of it is FREE!
Here are the events we added this week.
- June 7 – 5Point Summer Film Series – The film, Full Circle, will be followed by a Q & A with Trevor Kennison. Tickets and more info HERE.
- June 22 – Equity Speaker Series ft. Pattie Gonia – An evening with intersectional environmentalist and drag queen Pattie Gonia (she/they). Register HERE.
- June 23 – Pride Dance Party with Host Pattie Gonia – We couldn’t have Pattie here without throwing a proper party to celebrate Pride Month. The evening will include performances by Pattie and Ramona Chingona. Don’t sleep on this one. Tickets HERE.
- June 30 – Grupo Fantasma – Austin’s own Latin music collective plays new and traditional music; these vibrant fusions transcend easy classification. Boletas AQUI.
- July 22 – Consensual Improv – We are excited to have these goofballs back. They’ve been selling out rooms all over the valley. Best you commit to them early. Tickets HERE.
- August 26 – Comedian Eddie Pepitone – More comedy at TACAW! His shows are described as an energetic combo of calm and chaos, blue-collar angst, and sardonic enlightenment. I’m in! Tickets HERE.
Before you start scrolling our calendar below and buying ALL the tickets, I’d like to remind the readers with kiddos that Art Williams has lined up some great summer camps and workshops.
They are filling up, so grab spots while you can. We’ve got something for ‘kids’ of all ages, including kids at heart! Offerings include:
Your Brain, Onstage! – blending brain science and theater, this week-long camp for 4th – 6th graders culminates in a performance
Theater For All Ages Camp – This week-long camp integrates school-aged children and senior citizens who collaborate to stage an adaptation of the classic tale “The Little Mermaid.”
If you can’t make a camp, we’ve also got a slew of fun workshops for kids this summer. Learn more here!
Alrighty then, pick some events and let’s hang out soon. Really, summer won’t be the same without you…
