Happy Birthday to Us!!!
Hi, everybody.
Remember back when an awesome net-zero performing arts center opened right in the middle of the Roaring Fork Valley? Believe it or not, it was less than a year ago that Governor Polis declared September 24th The Arts Campus at Willits Day. A special thank you to all of our donors who contributed to the building and all of the members who made this first year possible. We’ve had some amazing times at 400 Robinson Street since then, and our future looks very bright.
To celebrate our first year, we’ve assembled a weekend that includes jazz pianist Jon Cleary, children’s entertainment, songwriters on our lawn, and Colorado legends The Motet. Tabl Cafe will also be open throughout the day as well. Check it all out below!
SEPTEMBER 23 – JON CLEARY (SOLO)
What a way to kick off TACAW’s First Birthday Celebration! Mr. Cleary joins us for an intimate solo performance. Jon Cleary’s love and affinity for New Orleans music are infectious. You won’t want to miss this special night in hour of TACAW’s first year.
Tabl Cafe will be open all day for our first birthday. Sample a delicious meal made from fresh, Colorado-sourced ingredients while you enjoy performances on the Listening Lawn. Check back for menu details!
SEPTEMBER 24 – THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH – FREE
Join us on TACAW’s lawn for an outdoor performance of “The Greatest Show on Earth.” This delightful show combines puppets, magic, ventriloquism, trained seal, juggler and clown. It’s fun and funny with lots of audience participation and music.
SEPTEMBER 24 – SONGS ON THE LAWN – FREE
An afternoon of performances by some amazing singer-songwriters. From 3 pm to 5 pm, we will enjoy some inspired performances by your favorite artists. Bring a blanket or get comfortable in the amphitheater. No outside food or drink, please.
SEPTEMBER 24 – AN EVENING WITH THE MOTET
Since 1998, The Motet have inspired the world with their unique style of dance music. Over the course of nine full-length albums, they’ve traversed the lines between funk, soul, jazz, and rock and built a diehard audience in the process. They’ve headlined Red Rocks Amphitheatre six times, and now they help TACAW celebrate our first birthday!
Looking forward to seeing you on our birthday!
Best,
Kendall Smith
