Grammy Winning Latin Funk + Salsa + Jenny and the Mexicats
Hi, everybody,
As we barrel towards the annual celebration of our nation’s independence, I want to thank our board of directors and donors who have provided TACAW the autonomy to celebrate art and self-expression in myriad ways. We fully embrace our responsibility to inspire the community through exceptional performing arts, cultural events, and thought-provoking programming.
I’m thinking about this for a couple of reasons. Last week an extremely wise community builder, Pattie Gonia, gave an inspiring talk about intersectional environmentalism. She shared a Venn diagram (I do love a good Venn!) by Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson that can help you start your journey to taking impactful action. The sweet spot is where the answers to three questions overlap. What brings you joy? What are you good at? What work needs doing? TACAW asks itself these questions daily.
The second reason I am thinking about this? I’m glad you asked. We are basking in a post-Gala glow from last night. Our previously mentioned board and donors gathered to celebrate our past, present, and future. We came. We fundraised. We partied. Thanks again to all the attendees for continuing to support our mission.
Ok. Now to something else significant. We have three days of Latin-based programming for our ENTIRE community.
- Friday, June 30 – Grupo Fantasma – This Grammy-winning 9-piece Latin funk band will definitely bring the party. If you enjoyed triangle park on Wednesday, you will definitely enjoy this. Tickets HERE.
- Saturday, July 1 – Salsa Night – Our friends Mezcla Socials and DJ Zafiro are back for another night of dancing. Tickets HERE.
- Saturday, July 8 – Jenny and the Mexicats – This high-energy multinational band blends elements of flamenco, cumbia jazz, and folk. Again, if you liked triangle park on Wednesday, this will blow you away Tickets HERE.
I hope you join us for all three of these nights of revelry. You can thank us later. If you can’t wait, here is a good way to do that. Just sayin’…
