Equity Speaker Series + Pride Dance Party
Hi, everybody.
Before I get to this week’s happenings, I want to give a quick shout-out to our team member, Jack Trembath, and Thunder River Theater Company. In addition to the fine work he has been doing at TACAW, Jack is in the midst of his main stage debut at TRTC in The Lifespan of a Fact. It is a terrific play with a terrific cast on a terrific set (I suppose I should expand my theater analysis vocabulary). This week is your last chance to see it. Learn more and get tickets here.
- Tuesday, June 20 – Remember that https://tacaw.org/Glenn-Miller-Orchestra-Summer-Camps/ I shared last week? Of course, you do! Tonight is the first item on that list. We welcome our dear friends Mezcla Socials Dance for a Kids Culture Creative Dance Workshop. It starts at 5:30. Learn more HERE.
We have two very special events this week in celebration of Pride Month. These events are meant to be inclusive community gatherings. I hope you join us.
- Thursday, June 22 – Equity Speaker Series featuring Pattie Gonia – Our partnership with Manaus.org has provided for many important conversations around anti-racism, equity in health, gender equity, and equity in education. This week we advocate for people and the planet with intersectional environmentalist and drag queen Pattie Gonia. This event will include a presentation by Pattie, audience Q&A, and a drag performance. Manaus and TACAW would like to thank Aspen Skiing Company, AspenOut, and Mountain Pride for supporting this event. RSVP HERE.
- Friday, June 23 – Pride Dance Party hosted by Pattie Gonia – There is no way we were going to let Pattie leave the valley without a proper dance party. Performances by Pattie and the valley’s own Ramona Chingona. Music by The Guest. Everybody 21+ is welcome! Get your tickets HERE before they go up on the day of the event.
We’ve got some great events to announce soon, but I am going to keep the focus on this week for now and also share this FUN FACT: Thunder River Theater Company has been nominated for seven Colorado Theater Guild Henry Awards. Congrats to our creative neighbors to the north. Let’s Pridefully party this week!
