ABOUT THE GRAWLIX

Genre: Comedy

The Grawlix is Colorado’s comedic royalty. The super group is comprised of Adam Cayton-Holland, Ben Roy, and Andrew Orvedahl. Each of these gentlemen can command a room by themselves. Together? Prepare yourself for an unmatched evening of comedy.

The Grawlix is a mainstay on the festival circuit, having performed at Bridgetown, New York Comedy Fest, LA Riot, and SXSW among others. Between Ben, Adam, and Andrew they have over four decades of stand-up experience, and have appeared on Conan, Adam Devine’s House Party, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In addition to their burgeoning stand up careers, they began to produce a web series that evolved into the original sitcom Those Who Can’t that aired three seasons on truTV and is now available on HBO Max.

Adam Cayton-Holland is a national touring comic who has appeared on CONAN, Comedy Central Presents, The Late Late Show with James Corden, @midnight, The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, and more. He has been named one of Esquire magazine’s “25 Comics to Watch” and one of “10 Comics to Watch” by Variety. His albums, “I Don’t Know If I Happy,” “Backyards,” “Adam Cayton-Holland Performs His Signature Bits,” (voted one of Vulture’s Top Ten Albums of 2018), and “Semblance of Normalcy,” are all available on iTunes. “Adam Cayton-Holland Performs His Signature Bits” is also available on vinyl through the record label Saddle Creek.

Cayton-Holland is the founder of the High Plains Comedy Festival in Denver. He has performed at comedy festivals all over the world, as well as The Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. Adam’s writing has appeared in the Village Voice, SPIN, The A.V. Club, The New York Times, Esquire and The Atlantic. His first book, Tragedy Plus Time, is available everywhere. He once threw out the opening pitch at a Colorado Rockies game and people have described him as “genial,” and “with decent teeth.”

Ben Roy cut his comedic teeth in Denver at the world famous Comedy Works. Since then, he has been selected to perform at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, Just For Laughs Toronto, Just For Laughs Chicago, The New York Comedy Festival, Austin’s South by Southwest festival, and many more. Roy has been featured on HBO’s Funny as Hell series; as well as on the Comedy Central shows Adam DeVine’s House Party, Corporate, @midnight, and This Is Not Happening. Ben has also released four stand-up comedy albums and was listed as one of Variety’s Top 10 Comics to Watch. He’s also currently host of two popular podcasts, 97.9 The Rat Race on the All Things Comedy network and, along with Orvedahl and Cayton-Holland, The Grawlix Saves the World available on The Starburns Audio Network. In addition to stand-up comedy, acting, and podcasting, Roy is a prolific musician and the current lead singer of pop punk outfit SPELLS.

Andrew Orvedahl started stand-up in 2003. In addition to performing regularly at his home club, Comedy Works in Denver, Orvedahl has toured the US, and performed at the Aspen (2011), Las Vegas, Seattle (2010), Great American (2012), Bridgetown (2011, 2012, 2013), and High Plains (2013, 2014) Comedy Festivals, and was part of the “New Faces” Showcase at Montreal Just for Laughs in 2013. In 2013, Orvedahl released his comedy album Hit The Dick Lights as a dual release with fellow Grawlix member Adam Cayton-Holland. Holland’s album I Don’t Know If I Happy shares similar album art, was recorded on the same date at Denver’s historic Bug Theatre. In 2020, Orvedahl released his album Alexa, Play Creed on Helium Comedy Records. Orvedahl has appeared on “NickMom Night Out” and “Last Comic Standing”, and on October 13, 2014, made his debut performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
