ABOUT IN PROGRESS WITH DANCEASPEN

GENRE: DANCE / DISCUSSION

DanceAspen’s In Progress series offers three opportunities to experience how a full evening-length work comes together. Step inside a working rehearsal of Take Me Home: Dances to the Music of John Denver and hear directly from the choreographers as each brings a distinct movement voice and style to a different section of the production. Follow the creative process as John Denver’s songs and soundscape take shape through dance, culminating in the world premiere at the Wheeler Opera House on February 20–21, 2027.

ABOUT DANCEASPEN

WEBSITE / INSTAGRAM

In 2021, in response to the dissolution of the Roaring Fork Valley’s professional dance company, a determined group of dancers led by Laurel Winton established a bold, new contemporary company. Their grassroots effort quickly garnered local support, culminating in a sold-out debut at the Wheeler Opera House. Rooted in the principles of collaboration, community, and artistic excellence, their company has developed a significant reputation, showcasing internationally renowned choreographers and creating 30+ world premieres. DanceAspen has also graced prominent stages at the Vail Dance Festival and Aspen Music Festival, demonstrating their dedication to producing new contemporary dance while enhancing the cultural vibrancy of the Aspen area.
