ABOUT Passion Fruit Dance Co

The culminating event of their 10-day residency in the Roaring Fork Valley, professional dance company from New York, Passion Fruit Dance Company, will perform their highly acclaimed piece, “Dance Within Your Dance” at TACAW. “Dance Within Your Dance” tells the story of “the groove” and has been performed around the world, including Jacob’s Pillow, The Guggenheim in New York, and the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, and has been written up in The New Yorker and Dance Magazine. “Not just a simple aesthetic, ‘the groove’ is the soul of street and club dance. A coalescence of community, fashion, training, introspection, liberation, and individual journeys, Passion Fruit explores how the groove can be a road map to social justice through the physical expression of Black culture” (Mass MoCA, 2021).
