Ali & KaiL Tonight & Announcing Martin Sexton

Ali & KaiL Tonight & Announcing Martin Sexton

Hi, everybody,

Can we throw a party or what? It’s pretty easy when you hire professional party starters like MarchFourth, have a community that loves costumes, and a boss who enjoys prancing around with a pair of coconut husks.

What made Saturday so special for me was that it capped a month exemplifying why TACAW exists in the first place. We hosted the Queer Voices theater project; we produced our free community jazz event, Pumpkin Jazz, with the Basalt Public Arts Commission; we hosted an Arts + Sustainability Forum produced by CBCA; we had our first Opera performance in partnership with The Art Base; Aspen Words brought us the charismatic author Leath Tonino for a chat; Teton Gravity Project served up some serious stoke (and whiskey); and Holy Cross Energy’s Brats and Kilowatts welcomed the community. And it all started with SUSTO—seriously, that band ruled! With all that, I don’t think we are going to sprain anything patting ourselves on the back a little. Feel free to high-five our staff when you see them in the wild.

TONIGHT! I’m really excited for this evening. There is something special about a person stepping on stage alone equipped only with a great voice, terrific songs, and the desire to share their art and delight a crowd. I’m not sure how else to convince you to come see Ali McGuirk and KaiL Baxley other than share these 6 SONGS. That’s 21 minutes of research you can do while multitasking.

Speaking of the power of solo talent, we just announced the incomparable Martin Sexton on February 24. I wouldn’t sleep on this one. This is a rare opportunity to see him in a listening room like ours. Get your tickets HERE

Just in case you thought there might be a little hubris in my comment about patting ourselves on the back, I’d like to make it clear that we are all very humbled to have the opportunity to serve our community in so many different ways. See you at 400 Robinson Street soon!

Best,

Kendall Smith
