A New Year & New Events
Hi, everybody.
We made it to 2023! Before 2022 gets too far in the rearview mirror, I want to say thanks to everyone who supported our programming last year. A special shoutout to those who joined us on New Year’s Eve. What. A. Blowout. You get a proper party to end the year when you mix a great community with a killer band and an amazing staff. The bar has been raised for all involved.
OK. I’m done living in the past. Talking about last year is SO 2022. Looking forward, the calendar is rounding into shape. Next week we have another Aspen Shakti ALIVE event and a terrific show featuring Birds of Play and The Red Hill Rollers.
We have a whole slew of new events coming your way over the next couple of weeks. This week we are happy to share the following:
- 1/28 – Emotional Rescue – The Valley’s own Rolling Stones Tribute band is joined by Peach Street Revival for a live concert taping. I’ve been itching for some classic rock on our stage. This night should scratch that itch pretty well.
- 1/31 – Equity Speaker Series ft Jason Vitello. This important partnership with Manaus continues. 2023 starts with a Denver-based health professional discussing the public health implications of racism.
- 2/10 – Consensual Improv – They’re back! Still buzzing from their SOLD OUT holiday show, these purveyors of hilarity are ready to make the funny again.
- 2/17 – Honky Tonk with Hugh Phillips Band – Our first Boot Scootin’, beer drinkin’ night of the year. Come make some turns!
- 3/2 – …As if They Were Angels – Filmmaker Terry Strauss brings this compelling story of bravery and a heroic community for a screening and conversation.
- 4/21 -The Complete History of Comedy Abridged) – The award-winning theater troupe The Reduced Shakespeare Company will cover comedy through the ages, from Aristophanes and Shakespeare and Moliere (Is Moliere funny? Why not?) to Vaudeville and Charlie Chaplin to The Daily Show and Anthony Weiner.
Like I said, a slew. We look forward to keeping the party going in 2023. See you soon!
