Halloween Bash, New Events and Some Renee Appreciation
Hi, everybody.
As we all celebrate the snow flying and look forward to all that it brings, I’d like to declare today Renee Prince Appreciation Day. If you were here this past weekend, you surely understand why. Many, many people came together to create the exceptional Queer Voices program, A Green Bird on Orange Trees. But, I want to ensure we recognize Renee for the years of work that made it possible. Renee is leaving VOICES in the very capable hands of MinTze Wu and their small but mighty staff. I look forward to their future programs. Renee, much love and gratitude to you (weird, my office just got a little dusty).
You know that feeling when your boss has a great idea, and you are able to actualize it? I certainly do. One day Ryan and I were kicking around Halloween Bash ideas when he suggested MarchFourth. It instantly made sense. We know they are loved in this valley and who doesn’t like controlled chaos around a bunch of people in disguise? Plus, they sound awesome! This Saturday is going to be the party to beat all parties. We’ve got some great prizes for the costume contest, so bring your A-game. Tickets are almost gone. Get yours HERE, pronto.
Next Wednesday (you should be recovered by then) we host Aspen Shakti for another edition of Alive – A New Kind of Nightlife. A nightclub atmosphere and amazing dance leaders combine for a sweaty good time. Tickets HERE.
Next Friday, we have a couple of gifted songwriters gracing our stage. I saw Ali McGuirk in Nashville at Americana Fest and was blown away. She is a special talent. As is KaiL Baxley. We had Kail here for Songs on the Lawn, and I’m looking forward to his full set inside. Tickets HERE.
We added a few more events for you to check out:
- Saturday, November 19 – We added The Red Hill Rollers as support for Vince Herman Band. An already great night with the founder of Leftover Salmon gets, um, greater. Tickets HERE.
- Tuesday, November 29 – Our fourth event in partnership with Manaus.org brings Assétou Xango to the Equity Speaker Series. As always, these events are free with an RSVP. Learn more HERE.
- Saturday, December 31- Speaking of parties… Our New Year’s Eve Bash is going to be the place to welcome 2023. Lowdown Brass Band has promised to bring it! We have early bird tickets available now. Get ‘em while you can HERE.
I hope to see you this Saturday. FYI, Regal Ryan will be in full effect.
Best,
Kendall Smith
