A Double Feature, Fashion, Food, & More

A Double Feature, Fashion, Food, & More

Hi, everybody.

I’m chock full of gratitude today. Last night we hosted our second Equity Speaker Series event in partnership with the Equity Action Project. We had a roomful of engaged members of our community hearing from Dr. Adriana Alvarez. She shared her experiences as an ESL student, teacher, and professor. Inspiring and enlightening doesn’t quite describe the evening. Our next event with the Equity Action Project is the August 25 free screening of the documentary, The Holly, followed by a conversation with the filmmaker and subject.

That was a great start to a week that includes a performance by the legendary singer/songwriter Chris Smither on Thursday, a free and compelling conversation between artisanal fashion designers on Friday, and another great partner event on Saturday.

Saturday, join us for a double feature of cinema and a fantastic dinner. We’ve partnered with Aspen Art Museum and the Whitney Museum to bring in two award-winning films with an option to have dinner in between. All the info (including the menu) is HERE. Make Saturday TACAWSOME!

SAVE THE DATE! We are bringing BASALSA back to TACAW on August 20. That day will have so much going on: food trucks, children’s activities, dance lessons, an afternoon bachata social outside, and an evening social featuring a live band. Oh, and of course, we have terrific partners on this one, too. Thanks to The Buddy Program and Mezcla Socials for making this a special day of dance.

Gratitude and high fives all around next time I see you at TACAW!
Best,

Kendall Smith
