Greetings from Challenge Aspen HQ. It has been pretty amazing here watching our friends from Challenge Aspen prepare for Friday’s show. Their production of The Greatest Show is free and open to the public tomorrow at noon. Join us for an inspiring theatrical experience and stay for lunch at TABL. You didn’t think I would pass on a chance to mention TABL, did you? This week’s turkey and peach panini is (insert chef’s kiss here).

Coming Soon:

  • Saturday, we have the amazing comedy talent that is Sam Tallent. You also won’t want to miss the feature comic this week, Stephen Adyei. Tickets HERE.
  • Tuesday is our next installment of the Equity Speaker Series. Dr. Adriana Alvarez will be here to explore the importance of affirming students’ cultures, languages, experiences, and families as levers of equity and belonging. This event is free. RSVP HERE.
  • Thursday, July 28th, brings us the fantastic songwriter/performer Chris Smither. I’ve said it before and am about to say it again. Our room is a great listening room for solo acoustic performers. Tickets HERE.
  • Friday, July 29th, is our first Creatives Conversation. We plan to continue to host folks from various creative sectors to speak about their work, process, and anything else on their mind. In From Concept to Closet, Betsy Fisher will moderate a conversation between artist/designers Isa Catto and Mi Jong Lee, Jennifer Roberts, and Jane Round. RSVP HERE. This is in conjunction with POP! Basalt occurring in the Alpine Bank Community Room.
  • Saturday, July 30th is an incredible day of food (three-course dinner by Julia and Allen Domingos) and cinema. We are partnering with Aspen Art Museum and Whitney Museum of American Art on an extension of the current exhibit Mountain / Time. Two films by award-winning filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul. Choose your own adventure, but a dinner ticket includes both films. More info and tickets are HERE

  • Saturday, August 13th – A high-energy morning presented by Aspen Shakti. Come to The Body Alive! More info and tickets HERE.
  • Thursday, August 25th –  A film screening and community conversation. Award-winning journalist, educator, and filmmaker Julian Rubinstein will screen his documentary film, The Holly, based on his book by the same name. The screening will be followed by a conversation featuring Mr. Rubinstein and the subject of the film, Terrance Roberts. This event is free to the public and made possible by the support of Manaus.org’s Equity Action Project. RSVP HERE.
