ABOUT THE VALLEY WINTER KICK-OFF PARTY

Genre: Film / Dance Party

Join us for the 1st annual Valley Winter Kickoff. We have designated the Saturday BEFORE Thanksgiving as the date for one big party before the snow is dumping and the lifts are spinning.

The full evening of pre-season revelry includes:

• A happier hour with themed games.
• A screening of the classic 80s film “Better Off Dead” starring John Cusack.
• Apres Film 80’s Dance Party
• Wear your best retro ski fit or dress like a character from the film for a chance to win prizes.
• A raffle with new gear and ski shop services to set yourself up right going into the ski season.

ABOUT “BETTER OFF DEAD”

Starring a young John Cusack as the hopelessly heartbroken Lane Meyer, this movie follows a high schooler who gets dumped by his girlfriend for the arrogant captain of the ski team. Lane spirals into a hilarious slump, only to find a new lease on life with the help of a French exchange student, a legendary 1967 Chevy Camaro, and a lot of courage on the slopes.

Prepare yourselves for:

• A relentless, psychotic paperboy who will hunt you down for two dollars.
• Street-racing brothers who learned English entirely from Wide World of Sports.
• A mother whose experimental cooking might actually be alive.
• And, of course, a singing, heavy-metal hamburger.

It all builds up to one of the most iconic, high-stakes snow showdowns in film history: the terrifying downhill race on the legendary K-12 run.
