Youth Empowerment Space (YES)

TACAW’S Youth Empowerment Space (YES) is a youth programming hub and hangout space for teens in the Mid-Valley that hosts a variety of programming and nonprofit partners. The YES provides a safe, fun, and engaging third space where young people in our Valley can grow and thrive. Opening in early 2027, the YES will be a new home for our Youth Education Programming.

TACAW is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and bringing the Youth Empowerment Space to life depends on community support. While the Town of Basalt has generously leased us the space for $1/year, TACAW is responsible for raising funds for both the buildout and ongoing operations. 

Third spaces matter now more than ever. 1 in 6 people worldwide report chronic loneliness, with rates highest among teens. Programs and spaces like YES give young people a sense of belonging, autonomy, and voice. Your gift helps ensure every young person in the Mid-Valley has access to a safe, free third space to grow, create, and connect.

YOUTH SUPPORT

Make your voice heard! Youth in grades 7-12 are invited to take our survey and share your ideas for the space. Tell us how you want the space to look and function.

TACAW’s Arts Influencers are paid high school students who help plan and run youth programming at YES. They shape the programming that takes place, the design of the space, who attends events, and more.
