For nearly two decades Donavon Frankenreiter has been traveling the globe, first as a professional surfer and now as a musician. Born in Southern California, Donavon spent most of his youth chasing waves, turning pro at the age of 16. These days instead of surf competitions, it’s concert halls that bring Frankenreiter to town, where he entertains audiences with his unique blend of laid-back grooves, philosophical lyrics and soulful delivery. This year, Frankenreiter is releasing his first studio in 9 years, out September 20, 2024. The album, entitled Get Outta Your Mind, marks the 20 year anniversary of his self-titled debut album.

THE SUNDAY SPINS is a vibrant vehicle for sharing analogue appreciation with friends in hopes of making new ones in the process.

The brainchild of California based photographer and record collector/selector, Adam Walker, THE SUNDAY SPINS started as a casual way to bring light through dark times through LIVE stream sessions. No plan. No agenda. Just music and connection. It was a way to bring a little light through the speakers, for myself and for anyone who happened to tune in.

Over time, it grew— and it’s still growing. The streams turned into real-world gigs. Into trips built around crate digging, documenting records stores, music scenes, and mixing it up with people who live and breathe this stuff all over the world. What never changed was the feeling. That moment when a track—wax or not—makes the hairs on your arm stand up and everything slows down for a few minutes.
