Jokester’s Journey: 1 Week Comedy Workshop for 6th-8th Grade
November 10, 2025 @ 4:15 pm – November 14, 2025 @ 5:45 pm

ABOUT JOKESTER’S JOURNEY: 1 WEEK COMEDY WORKSHOP FOR 6th-8th GRADE
Laughter is a superpower and this workshop helps kids harness it through stand-up, improv, and sketch comedy! Over the course of one week, middle schoolers explore the art of comedy through games, lessons, and play. We create a brave, inclusive room where students can take fun risks, learn to support one another, write jokes, tell stories through sketch and think on their feet.
Whether students join for the full series or drop in for a single session, every student leaves with tools to express themselves, collaborate kindly, and have a blast doing it.
Making mischief fun!
We encourage students to join for the full week since skills will build from day to day—but each drop-in session is also designed to stand on its own.
What we’ll do:
- Play improv games and warm-ups that encourage listening, taking creative risks, and saying “Yes, And” to each other’s ideas.
- Turn everyday experiences into funny jokes, punchlines, and other comedic storytelling tools.
- Develop comedic voice and practice performance skills
- Lessons, games, and discussions to sharpen quick thinking, discover what makes things funny, and celebrate creative risk-taking.
By the end of the week, students will:
- Demonstrate “Yes, And” and basic improv principles (agreement, teamwork, listening).
- Learned the basics of a premise, setup, and punchline to craft a stand‑up bit.
- Begin to understand the principles behind comedy and how all comedic forms tie together.
- Collaborate in groups to create scenes.
