ABOUT Outside / In with Ormao Dance Company
The Aspen Dance Connection presents OUTSIDE/IN 2.0, dedicated to the uniqueness of TACAW.
Jan Johnson, Artistic Director of ORMAO Dance Company will create a site-specific performance with Britt Ford for the TACAW grounds to be performed by her company and CO-MOTION dancers.
The rich beauty of the outside spaces provides inspiration for the choreography and a beautiful backdrop for the performers. After they dance outdoors on the raw earth, ORMAO dancers move into TACAW’s theatre and perform intriguing dances from their current repertoire that provoke, challenge, and entertain the audience.
The program will include … that blooms at night by Kim Davagian, (LA), Heart Suite by Chuck Wilt, (San Francisco/ NYC), and Cruise Control by Larry Keigwin, (NYC). Keigwin’s dances have been presented at the Vail International Dance Festival, Joyce Theater NYC, and Kennedy Center, DC.
ORMAO (pronounced or-MY-oh) stems from an ancient Greek term movement with force.
Aspen Dance Connection (ADC) presented annual Colorado Juried Dance Showcases at the Wheeler Opera House for 34 years and site-specific outdoor events: on the grounds of the old Aspen Art Museum, Ajax Mountain during Winterskol, SHOES at SAW Studio, Carbondale, and OUT-SIDE /IN with IMPACT Dance at TACAW. ADC is known for its’ extensive outreach programs, performing original and world dance for schools and libraries from Aspen to Parachute.

Local 7th through 12th graders enrolled in TACAW’s Youth Art Pass program are eligible to receive two (2) free admission tickets: one (1) for them and one (1) for a guest.
