Susto + Band of Heathens + Basalsa Schedule
Hi, everybody.
How was your Mountain Fair? Am I still allowed to ask that on the Friday after? While we are at it, I’d like to address another question. What day is the cutoff for wishing somebody Happy New Year? FYI – For what it is worth, TACAW alums, Tropa Magica, were amazing last Saturday.
We have two solid concerts this weekend. If you spent all three days outside in Carbondale last week, these two shows should be a walk in the park. Poor analogy? Probably…
Saturday – Susto with opener Johnny Delaware – If you know me, you know I love this band. We are happy to have them back for round 2. That new release is, as the kids are saying these days, straight fire. I heard recently some folks out there can never tell what the heck I am talking about. For you, that means Susto’s newest record album is the bee’s knees. Tickets HERE.
Sunday – The Band of Heathens with openers Emmer & Ellis – I love a concert on a Sunday night. It’s the perfect way to wrap up a weekend. Their new record also has the knees of a bee. This show features the added bonus of having Jackson and Harley take our stage with a third hand, Lester. Harley called after rehearsal earlier this week. He is pretty excited about what they have cooking. Tickets HERE.
Saturday, August 12 – BASALSA – We published the schedule for our annual day of dancing. We will feature multiple lessons by many great teachers, a kid’s African Dance class with Live drumming, and an evening social featuring the live band Son De La Zona (Boulder, CO) As usual, special thanks to our dear friends Mezcla Socials Dance. This event is free to the public.
Are you ready to stoke out for Winter yet? I’m not quite there, but I am happy to know we have Teton Gravity Research returning in October with their new film, Legend Has It. This time we are offering two showings. Learn about the afternoon family matinee presentation HERE. Tin Cup Whiskey is back to take part in another special evening event with a guided tasting, athlete interviews, and schwag. Learn about the limited seating WhiSki event HERE.
Hope I see you here this weekend. If not, Happy New Year!
