Raised on the North American traditions of blues\, folk\, and soul and inspired by their world travels\, the four women of Ley Line transcend genres and languages. Ley Line creates a global soundscape; blending influences from Brazil\, Latin America and West Africa. Dynamic harmonies run like a current through textures of stand up bass\, guitar\, ukulele and world percussion. With strong ties to world folklore traditions\, Ley Line’s multilingual compositions evoke the beauty of the human experience through our connection to nature and each other.  \n\n\n\nLey Line was created in 2016 as the merging of two duos. The band was born during the completion of their premier album Field Notes\, and their self-managed tour from Texas to New York. From that point on\, Ley Line has been touring nationally and internationally\, performing at music festivals\, facilitating educational programs for youth\, recording original music and collaborating with other artists. Ley Line has performed at Austin City Limits Music Festival\, SXSW\, The Northwest String Summit\, Kerrville Folk Festival and alongside Bonnie Paine of Elephant Revival at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Ley Line is acknowledged by their hometown of Austin\, Texas as nominees for the Austin Chronicle’s 2020 Band of the Year and Album of the Year. In 2019 they won a major grant through the artist development program Black Fret and have been featured as “artist of the month” on KUTX.  \n\n\n\nLey Line is inspired by a deep appreciation for folk music and the way it travels and evolves across borders and generations. The members of Ley Line draw influences from Brazil\, Latin America\, West Africa and beyond and seamlessly connect it to the roots of American folk music. Their multilingual compositions prove the point that music is a universal language that connects us all. He has appeared on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt\, Girls5eva\, Joe Pera Talks with You\, Inside Amy Schumer\, @midnight\, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee\, The Tick\, and The Jim Gaffigan Show among other programs. And he plays a Devo-obsessed weed dealer in the new film Drunk Bus starring Ozark’s Charlie Tahan and Will Forte. Dave has also starred in his own TV series\, The King of Miami\, on the MOJO Network\, which was cancelled even though Dave really liked it.  \n\n\n\nDave is a regular contributor to public radio’s This American Life and Live from Here with Chris Thile (formerly Prairie Home Companion) and also hosted his own radio show\, The Goddamn Dave Hill Show\, on WFMU in Jersey City\, New Jersey for five years. Dave also hosts the podcast The Dave Hill Goodtime Hour and is the resident heavy metal expert on Malcolm Gladwell and Rick Rubin’s Broken Record podcast.  \n\n\n\nDave performs live comedy in theaters\, prisons\, and basements all over the world and even opened for Snoop Dogg once\, which was awesome.  \n\n\n\nDave also plays guitar and sings in his own rock band\, Valley Lodge\, whose song “Go” is the theme song for HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver in addition to fronting Painted Doll with death metal legend Chris Reifert (Autopsy\, Death). Thank you for helping us keep our community safe.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT MIDNIGHT NORTH \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGenre: Rock/Americana \n\n\n\nIn 2018\, Rolling Stone wrote\, “Growing up the son of Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh\, Grahame Lesh was exposed to plenty of great American music\, but his band\, Midnight North\, takes the best parts of roots music and weaves them into a tapestry of rock and Americana. Onstage with vocalists and multi-instrumentalists Elliot Peck and Alex Jordan\, and bassist Connor O’Sullivan\, Lesh leads a group that just as easily sounds like Buckingham-Nicks era Fleetwood Mac in its soulful rock simplicity as it does a Dead outfit.”  \n\n\n\nGrahame Lesh\, Elliott Peck\, & Connor O’Sullivan began playing together in San Francisco. In early 2012 they played their first show as Grahame Lesh & Friends. Grahame & Elliott both brought a repertoire of original music to this new project that was a perfect marriage once the band began performing in earnest. In late 2012 the band went into the studio for the first time\, tracking the entirety of their debut album End of the Night in just 2 days. End of the Night (mixed & produced by Connor) was released in June 2013 as they officially debuted the name Midnight North.  \n\n\n\nSince then\, they have released 4 records. Their latest release\, “There’s Always a Story\,” represents a new chapter for the band.
