Special areas of interest have been international medicine\, wilderness medicine\, domestic violence and homeless healthcare. In 1992 he created Operation Safety Net as part of the Pittsburgh Mercy health system to provide healthcare to the unsheltered homeless. In 2005 he initiated the annual International Street Medicine Symposium and in 2009 he and others created the Street Medicine Institute. Gilmore answers: “But I know when it does you’re going to be my friend.” Six years later\, they’re serving notice that the old highway hasn’t ended yet. “We’re still standing\, no matter what you might hear\,” they sing on “We’re Still Here\,” the final track to their new album Texicali. Due out Jun 21\, 2024 on Yep Roc Records\, Texicali continues to bridge the distance between the two troubadours’ respective home bases of California (Alvin) and Texas (Gilmore). \n\n\n\nThe album’s geographic theme reflects Alvin’s repeated journeys to record in Central Texas with Gilmore and the Austin-based backing band that has toured with the duo for the past few years. The 11 songs on Texicali also connect the duo’s shared fondness for a broad range of American music forms. On their own\, both have been prominent artists for decades. A philosophical songwriter with a captivating\, almost mystical voice\, Gilmore co-founded influential Lubbock group the Flatlanders in the early 1970s. Alvin first drew attention as a firebrand guitarist and budding young songwriter with Los Angeles roots-rockers the Blasters in the early 1980s. \n\n\n\nGilmore is primarily known for left-of-center country music\, while Alvin’s compass points largely toward old-school blues. But there’s a lot of ground to cover beyond those foundations\, and both artists also are well-known for transcending genre limitations. So it’s not surprising that they’ve spiked Texicali with cosmic folk narratives\, deep R&B grooves and even swinging reggae rhythms. “There’s such a strange variety through the whole thing\,” Gilmore says. “And I love that.” \n\n\n\nThey’re both quick to credit the musicians who joined them in the studio as crucial to the sound and spirit of the album. On Downey To Lubbock\, they recorded primarily in Los Angeles with a crew that included ringers such as the late Don Heffington on drums and Van Dyke Parks on accordion. This time\, though\, Alvin’s longtime rhythm section of drummer Lisa Pankratz and bassist Brad Fordham played a larger role\, along with guitarist Chris Miller and keyboardist Bukka Allen. “After the time we spent touring\, Jimmie and I became members of this band\,” Alvin says. “The band can play just about anything\, which the album shows off.” Texicali also found Alvin and Gilmore increasingly focusing on original songs. Among them are “Trying To Be Free\,” which Gilmore wrote more than 50 years ago; “Southwest Chief\,” a collaboration between Alvin and the late Bill Morrissey; and “Death of the Last Stripper\,” which Alvin wrote with Terry Allen and his wife Jo Harvey Allen. \n\n\n\nJust as important\, however\, are the choices they made for non-original material. The covers on Texicali include “Roll Around” by Gilmore’s longtime friend Butch Hancock; “Broke Down Engine” and “Betty And Dupree” from blues greats Blind Willie McTell and Brownie McGhee\, respectively; and Stonewall Jackson’s “That’s Why I’m Walking\,” which marries Gilmore’s country croon to a New Orleans R&B arrangement. Recorded in Nashville with his longtime band\, The Fabulous Superlatives\, the collection finds Stuart picking up where he left off on 2017’s Way Out West\, exploring a cosmic country landscape populated by dreamers and drifters\, misfits and angels\, honky-tonk heroes and lonesome lovers. There’s a desert flare to the music here\, a sweeping\, spacious feel that conjures up wide-open horizons and endless stretches of two-lane highway\, and the production is raw and cinematic to match\, tipping its cap both to Bakersfield and Laurel Canyon as it balances jangle and twang in equal measure. It would be easy for an artist as accomplished as Stuart to rest on his laurels at this point in his career\, but Altitude instead showcases the work of a searcher with an insatiable appetite for growth and reflection\, one whose ambition\, much like his keen wit and rich imagination\, only seems to grow with each and every release. \n\n\n\n“I’ve always loved songs that feel like old friends but still sound new and fresh\,” says Stuart. “The beautiful thing about country music is that the blueprint Jimmie Rodgers laid down—rambling\, gambling\, sin\, redemption\, Heaven\, Hell—it’s all just as relevant now as it ever was. It’s the human condition\, and if you’re honest about it and you’ve got a real band around you\, you can make something that’s uniquely yours and stands the test of time.” \n\n\n\nA Country Music Hall of Famer\, five-time Grammy Award-winner\, and AMA Lifetime Achievement honoree\, Stuart knows a thing or two about standing the test of time. Born and raised in Philadelphia\, Mississippi\, he landed his first big gig in Lester Flatts’ band at the tender age of thirteen\, and by twenty-one\, he was working on the road and in the studio with Johnny Cash. Though Stuart built his early reputation backing up country and bluegrass royalty\, it wasn’t long before Nashville recognized him as a star in his own right\, and over the course of forty-plus years as a solo artist\, he would go on to release more than twenty major label albums\, scoring platinum sales\, hit singles\, and just about every honor the industry could bestow along the way. \n\n\n\n“If country music had a president\, it would be Marty Stuart\,” famed documentarian Ken Burns once proclaimed. “He is the embodiment of the culture.” \n\n\n\nStuart emerged as an unofficial caretaker of the culture\, too\, spending much of his career rescuing and collecting country music artifacts from throughout the genre’s history. The first piece he picked up? Patsy Cline’s makeup kit\, which he bought from a junk shop for $75. These days\, Stuart\, who Rolling Stone calls “one of the world’s foremost country experts and archivists\,” has roughly 20\,000 pieces in his collection\, including a handwritten copy of Hank Williams’ “I Saw The Light” and Johnny Cash’s first black performance suit. While select items have been exhibited everywhere from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to the Louvre\, Stuart is hard at work building a dedicated arts and cultural center to preserve and display it all in his hometown of Philadelphia. \n\n\n\n“I’m calling it The Congress of Country Music\, and I want it to serve as an inspirational spot\,” says Stuart\, who’s raised funds for the center with annual late night jams at the Ryman featuring everyone from Emmylou Harris and Sheryl Crow to Tyler Childers and Billy Strings. “I want it to be a touchstone where younger generations can learn about this stuff and figure out who they are and embark on their own musical journeys.” \n\n\n\nIt’s that last part that particularly excites Stuart\, whose musical journey came full circle on Altitude. Written primarily on the road\, the collection was inspired in large part by Stuart’s 2018 tour supporting Byrds co-founders Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman\, who reunited for the 50th anniversary of their seminal Sweetheart Of The Rodeo album. \n\n\n\n“I bought my first copy of Sweetheart Of The Rodeo for $2.99 at the discount bin in a shopping mall record store in Goodlettsville\, Tennessee\, and it became the blueprint for my musical life\,” Stuart recalls. “Revisiting it on the road with Roger and Chris put me back under its spell all over again. I was writing songs in dressing rooms and soundchecks and on the bus\, and then one day\, I looked up and there was enough to make an album.” \n\n\n\nStuart and his band spent much of 2019 breaking in the new material live\, and by 2020\, they were raring to get into the studio. COVID\, however\, had other plans. Not wanting to lose any momentum\, Stuart moved the sessions from the temporarily shuttered Capitol Studios in Hollywood\, CA to East Iris Studios in Nashville\, TN\, where he and his bandmates were still able to perform live on the floor (albeit masked and six feet apart). \n\n\n\n“We knew if we didn’t find a way to make the record in that moment\, we might never recapture the same circle of fire around the songs we had going for us\,” Stuart explains. “If we waited for COVID to pass\, the album might very well have passed us by\, too.” \n\n\n\nThe electricity in the room is palpable on Altitude\, which opens with the blistering and trippy “Lost Byrd Space Train (Scene 1).” Played on Byrds guitarist Clarence White’s original B-Bender Telecaster (another prized possession in Stuart’s collection)\, the instrumental track chugs along at a breakneck pace\, flirting with country\, bluegrass\, and even psychedelic rock as it sets the stage for the wide-ranging sonic journey to come. Stuart keeps the energy high here—the scorching “Country Star” squeezes a lifetime’s worth of absurdist imagery into a three-minute tour-de-force\, while the ecstatic “Time To Dance” is a slice of pure honky-tonk joy\, and the rousing “Friend Of Mine” even offers hints of Link Wray and The Ventures—but he never loses sight of the emotional core of the music\, even amidst all of the instrumental fireworks. The ringing 12-string and bittersweet harmonies of “Sitting Alone\,” for instance\, only serve to heighten the song’s sense of distance and isolation; the hypnotic sitar line on “Space” amplifies the uneasiness and longing that simmers just beneath the surface; and the spare acoustic delivery of “The Angels Came Down” underscores the raw vulnerability in Stuart’s deeply autobiographical lyrics. \n\n\n\n“‘The Angels Came Down’ is probably the most truthful song on the record\,” Stuart reflects. “There have been times in my life when I’ve felt like a lost and wandering soul\, just chasing all the wrong things. Some people lose their lives to that\, but sometimes the angels offer you a hand up out of the darkness.” \n\n\n\nIt’s that big picture perspective that guides Stuart on the album’s old-school\, shuffling title track\, which takes a bird’s eye view of what really matters most in this life. “To get to go and stay\, must give all your love away\,” Stuart sings over what turned out to be one of the final performances from late piano legend Pig Robbins. \n\n\n\n“I like to say that the most outlaw thing you can possibly do in Nashville right now is play country music\,” Stuart says with a laugh. “This album is a reminder to me\, and to anyone else out there who’s interested\, that there’s still a few of us left who know how to do it. Simultaneously\, he notably shined at festivals\, including Austin City Limits\, Electric Forest\, Okeechobee\, Holy Ship!\, Voodoo Music + Arts\, and more.  \n\n\n\nA season of transformation and awakening underlined the genesis of Better Will Come. \n\n\n\n“Around the time of the Daymaker tour\, behind-the-scenes life hit me in an unexpected way I didn’t think was possible\,” he recalls. “In turn\, I took a downward spiral as a direct result of my poor choices and failure to balance things in my personal life. It was a hard pill to swallow\, but I had to get real. I acknowledged it and consciously made a change. I started eating healthier\, going to the gym\, and seeing a therapist. Everything helped a lot. I funneled the inner pain and turmoil into the music.” \n\n\n\nHe did so during sessions in New York and Denver. Beyond shaping lively and lush soundscapes of his own\, he orchestrated performances by a bevy of musicians such as Jeff Franca\, Hunter Roberts\, Bora Lee\, Mike Tallman\, and Eddie Roberts. Akin to a conductor\, he actively produced the players and arranged the tracks.  \n\n\n\nNow\, he introduces this chapter via the uplifting single “Feel Yourself” [with Marc Rebillet]. A seventies-style synth line wraps around the bass\, while a head-nodding beat sets the tempo punctuated by glimmering guitar and a loose lead. Rebillet’s buttery smooth vocals engage and empower as he urges\, “Nobody feeling you\, gotta feel yourself.” \n\n\n\n“Marc and I have known each other since 2019\,” he says. “I admire him as a musician and as a person. We reconnected in 2022\, and it was dope he made time for me. ‘Feel Yourself’ is straight-to-the-point. He came up with the hook on the spot\, and it’s almost like a mantra. Your inner consciousness is telling you\, ‘People around you can love you for who you are. At the end of the day though\, nobody can help you and love you for you; you have to do that. You need to do the inner work.” \n\n\n\nElsewhere\, “Soulsearcher” uncorks a blast of sonic sunshine enlivened by ecstatic strings\, ebullient keys\, engaging horns\, and an entrancing vocal. “I finally knew how to finish the song after the life experience I’d gone through\,” he states. “It’s about searching deep\, inquiring within\, and telling yourself the healthiest way to go on your path.” \n\n\n\n“Nebula Gazer” hinges on a clean funk riff and foot-stomping bass. Built around a core synth line\, successive solos swirl across this galaxy in an intergalactic call-and-response.  \n\n\n\n“There are way more solos on the album\,” he smiles. “It made everything more colorful.” \n\n\n\nThe unabashed soul of “Life and Death of Hard Times” explores an overarching theme with a strutting groove and slick thump of its own. “We all go through rough periods\,” he observes. “That’s just human experience. We suffer\, but it doesn’t last forever. ‘Life and Death of Hard Times’ describes the beginning and end cycle of a hard time. You come out stronger on the other side.” \n\n\n\nThen\, there’s the closer “Better Will Come.” He samples Gil Scott-Heron whose words\, “If you take your time\, you might change your mind\,” prove as prescient and appropriate as ever layered atop a buoyant soundscape. \n\n\n\n“Gil’s words are looped through the song\, and it ties the whole album together\,” he notes. “If you really do take your time\, you can change your mind and everything\, in general. It’s a full circle moment.” \n\n\n\nIn order to bring the music to life on stage\, Flamingosis will hit the road with a band for the very first time. At the end of 2023\, he performed a pair of gigs in Denver at Cervantes joined by Bodega Groove Collective. The drums\, horns\, guitar\, and bass added a full-bodied bombast to the set unlike anything he’d delivered prior. \n\n\n\n“The shows in Denver were pretty much the climax of my music career thus far\,” he goes on. “I’d never played with a live band\, so it was a major change. I’ve learned you need to face new challenges head-on. It’s what we did\, and it went great. It’s going to be really cool to do the same thing on the road.” \n\n\n\nIn the end\, Flamingosis delivers a message meant to be shared aloud on the album. \n\n\n\n“It’s a reminder that no matter what you’re going through\, you can be better for yourself\,” he leaves off. “Hard times don’t last. All of those little things add up to change you for the better. Am I where I want to be? He first started breaking in 8th grade and was all self-taught for the first two years before having a chance to dance and train with other b-boys for the first time. Breaking kept him out of trouble and in love with the constant effort to be better than he was yesterday. With little to no hip-hop scene in the valley\, he was driven by his own love for breaking and hip-hop to keep practicing by himself before connecting with Dance Initiative in 2021. He has had the opportunity to teach over 1\,700 students in the Roaring Fork Valley about hip-hop and breaking. \n\n\n\n\n\nQuincy Gray – Hip Hop Instructor \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQuincy Gray\, a native Angeleno\, is a passionate educator\, performing artist\, and entertainment professional\, excited to bring his love for urban dance to TACAW this spring. With a career spanning performance\, choreography\, and artistic direction for musicians and live events\, Quincy has had the honor of collaborating with talented individuals across various industries. He honed his craft at the California Institute of the Arts and Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles\, further expanding his skills with Meisner acting technique and youth theater direction at Thunder River Theater. Quincy has also taught hip-hop at The Launchpad in Carbondale and Aspen Shakti.His signature class\, IAM FREEstyl\, channels the energy of hip-hop culture through movement\, street funk\, and a mix of musical genres. She coaxes sounds out of the very edges of her cello\, adeptly layering them into “swoon inducing” (San Francisco Weekly) music that is unclassifiable yet “a distinctive mix of old and new” (National Public Radio). She is known for her use of technology – which she uses to record and sample her cello onstage and in the studio – and for her DIY approach – composing\, recording and producing her works without the help of a record label. \n\n\n\nBorn in Canada\, Keating started playing the cello when she was eight and went on to pursue electronic music and contemporary composition as part of her Liberal Arts studies at Sarah Lawrence College. After graduation she moved to San Francisco and built a career as an information architect and data analyst while moonlighting as a cellist in rock bands. Keating eventually combined her love of music and technology\, using a computer to live-layer her cello and performing for late-night parties in the San Francisco warehouse in which she lived. \n\n\n\nKeating’s recorded works have achieved a surprising degree of popular ubiquity for a DIY artist. Her self-produced albums have several times reached #1 on the iTunes classical charts and spent many months on the Billboard classical charts. Her recordings are used as bumper music for NPR’s Morning Edition\, as the theme music to OnBeing\, as the thinking- music of the Sherlock Holmes character on CBS Elementary\, in HBO’s hit drama White Lotus\, in countless documentaries and in tens of thousands of online videos of everything from professional and amateur dance performances to rock climbing and gaming videos. \n\n\n\nKeating also composes for TV\, theater\, film and dance. She co-composed\, along with Jeff Russo\, the score for the HBO movie “Oslo”\, which earned them an Emmy Nomination in 2021 for Outstanding Music for a Television Movie. Her latest projects include scores for PBS’s 2022 series “Searching: Our Quest for Meaning in the Age of Science” and the drama “For The Love of a Woman”\, by Italian director Guido Chiesa\, scheduled for release in 2024. \n\n\n\nIn addition to her recordings\, Keating performs to rapt audiences around the world. Each performance is unique as she spontaneously improvises around her pieces\, demonstrates how she makes them and tells the stories behind them. \n\n\n\nA vocal advocate for the rights of artists and creators\, Keating writes and speaks often about copyright and the mechanics of the music industry economy. He has had the opportunity to teach over 1\,700 students in the Roaring Fork Valley about hip-hop and breaking. \n\n\n\n\n\nQuincy Gray – Hip Hop Instructor \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQuincy Gray\, a native Angeleno\, is a passionate educator\, performing artist\, and entertainment professional\, excited to bring his love for urban dance to TACAW this spring. He is the youngest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. Coming 6 years after the Grammy nominated album ‘Black Times’\, this album marks a pivotal moment in Seun Kuti’s illustrious career\, showcasing his evolution as an artist and activist. He first started breaking in 8th grade and was all self-taught for the first two years before having a chance to dance and train with other b-boys for the first time. Breaking kept him out of trouble and in love with the constant effort to be better than he was yesterday. With little to no hip-hop scene in the valley\, he was driven by his own love for breaking and hip-hop to keep practicing by himself before connecting with Dance Initiative in 2021. He has had the opportunity to teach over 1\,700 students in the Roaring Fork Valley about hip-hop and breaking. \n\n\n\n\n\nQuincy Gray – Hip Hop Instructor \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQuincy Gray\, a native Angeleno\, is a passionate educator\, performing artist\, and entertainment professional\, excited to bring his love for urban dance to TACAW this spring. With a career spanning performance\, choreography\, and artistic direction for musicians and live events\, Quincy has had the honor of collaborating with talented individuals across various industries. He honed his craft at the California Institute of the Arts and Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles\, further expanding his skills with Meisner acting technique and youth theater direction at Thunder River Theater. Quincy has also taught hip-hop at The Launchpad in Carbondale and Aspen Shakti.His signature class\, IAM FREEstyl\, channels the energy of hip-hop culture through movement\, street funk\, and a mix of musical genres. Quincy views dance as a deeply spiritual and healing form of storytelling\, helping individuals express emotions and improve physical and emotional well-being. His classes focus on self-expression\, incorporating freestyle dance as a key element. Quincy invites participants to discover their unique style\, joy\, and the transformative power of dance. In a dozen albums spanning three decades of recording\, the Denver-born songwriter/guitarist/singer has tackled such topics as the death penalty\, anorexia nervosa\, shoplifting\, reproduction\, the French Resistance\, adolescent malaise\, LGBTQ issues\, and the Christian Right. Her hits include “I Kissed A Girl”—the first openly gay-themed song ever to crack the Billboard Top 20—and the alt-rock anthem “Supermodel” featured in the film “Clueless”. Sobule was one half of The Jill & Julia Show\, providing music while actor Julia Sweeney contributes storytelling. Jill is considered a pioneer in crowdfunding and is constantly exploring and creating new models for artists in an ever-changing music industry. Her latest record is “Nostalgia Kills”\, produced by Ben Lee and released on her own Pinko Records label. Jill’s theater credits include a musical adaptation of the Broadway classic “Yentl”\, “Prozak and the Platypus”\, and “Times Square”. Her latest\, “F*ck 7th Grade”\, was postponed due to Covid\, but was performed and filmed for three days at a make-shift drive-in over the Summer. The musical is a finalist for the Lambda Literary awards in LGBTQ Drama category this June. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT TODDY WALTERS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nToddy Walters is a multi-faceted artist who has performed in theater\, film\, television\, and commercials both as an actor and a recording/touring vocalist. She has recorded albums of original material and collaborated with producers and songwriters for film and music projects. Toddy began as a voice-over artist in the first 2 seasons of South Park and the South Park feature film\, ‘Bigger\, Longer and Uncut.’ She lent her vocals to the score of John Carpenter’s ‘The Ward’ but was left on the editing room floor of Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line. Toddy created\, managed and led an Amy Winehouse Tribute theater piece with a full band from 2015-2018 in Denver called Winehouse to solid acclaim. In 2017\, she played Heroin Jones in the feature film ‘Stadium Anthems’ available on Amazon Prime\, providing vocals and songwriting for the soundtrack. This season’s program seamlessly blends a diverse array of musical styles\, culminating in the highly anticipated world premiere of Snow Prayer\, a newly commissioned work by local composer and pianist\, Kevin Kaukl. \n\n\n\nHCS continues its commitment to accessible\, high-quality performances by offering free concerts with a suggested donation of $20 per person\, ensuring that the joy of live music remains available to all. \n\n\n\nThe concert program journeys through a diverse array of musical styles\, beginning with Gerald Finzi’s Prelude\, a lyrical and introspective work that sets a contemplative tone. George Gershwin’s Lullaby follows\, wrapping audiences in its tender\, jazz-inflected harmonies. Gabriel Fauré’s Après Un Rêve evokes a dreamlike world of longing and nostalgia\, while Astor Piazzolla’s Oblivion and Chau Paris infuse the program with the passion of tango. Gustav Holst’s Brook Green Suite\, a lively and folk-inspired work\, provides a bright and spirited finale before the unveiling of Kevin Kaukl’s Snow Prayer. \n\n\n\nThe world premiere of Snow Prayer\, commissioned via funds from the City of Aspen Cultural Vibrancy Fellowship program\, is a highlight of the season. Snow Prayer began as a meditation on the critical role that winter snow plays in our mountain ecology\, our local economy\, and our cultural identity as a city. We’ve all seen the bumper stickers that say “PRAY FOR SNOW.” Inspired by that sentiment\, Snow Prayer is a musical illustration of our collective yearning for a healthy snowpack in our mountains. It is meant to capture the excitement\, beauty\, and grandeur of an epic powder day. Kaukl said that the Cultural Vibrancy Fellowship allowed him to study orchestration techniques\, acquire software tools\, and connect with other Fellows who work in a diverse range of media was a huge inspiration.  \n\n\n\nABOUT HIGH COUNTRY SINFONIA \n\n\n\nFounded in 2015\, High Country Sinfonia is a musician-led chamber orchestra dedicated to providing exceptional performances to the Roaring Fork Valley. After that\, he had the chance to study and perform across the U.S. and internationally\, earning his Master of Music and Artist Diploma degrees from the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin and Shenandoah Conservatory in Virginia. He was a student of the Irish pianist John O’Conor throughout his graduate studies.  \n\n\n\nAspen’s vibrant community and beautiful mountain surroundings made a lasting impression on Kaukl and left him longing to return. After graduate school\, he moved to the Roaring Fork Valley and was appointed to his present position as organist and music director at St. Mary Catholic Church in 2016. His classes emphasize the roots and fundamentals of breaking – top rocks\, down rocks\, freezes & power moves! Plus\, Quincy\, an expert in hip-hop\, will teach you the latest moves\, footwork\, and freestyle techniques. With Quincy’s energy and experience\, you’ll find your unique style and learn to express yourself like never before. \n\n\n\nWe’ll wrap up the 6 weeks with a dance off\, where you’ll get to show off everything you’ve learned\, throw down your best moves\, and vibe with your crew.  \n\n\n\nJohier Begay – Breaking Instructor \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJohier Begay is of Navajo ancestry and originally from the Four Corners but has been living in the valley for years now. He first started breaking in 8th grade and was all self-taught for the first two years before having a chance to dance and train with other b-boys for the first time. Breaking kept him out of trouble and in love with the constant effort to be better than he was yesterday. With little to no hip-hop scene in the valley\, he was driven by his own love for breaking and hip-hop to keep practicing by himself before connecting with Dance Initiative in 2021. He has had the opportunity to teach over 1\,700 students in the Roaring Fork Valley about hip-hop and breaking. \n\n\n\n\n\nQuincy Gray – Hip Hop Instructor \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQuincy Gray\, a native Angeleno\, is a passionate educator\, performing artist\, and entertainment professional\, excited to bring his love for urban dance to TACAW this spring. With a career spanning performance\, choreography\, and artistic direction for musicians and live events\, Quincy has had the honor of collaborating with talented individuals across various industries. He honed his craft at the California Institute of the Arts and Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles\, further expanding his skills with Meisner acting technique and youth theater direction at Thunder River Theater. Quincy has also taught hip-hop at The Launchpad in Carbondale and Aspen Shakti.His signature class\, IAM FREEstyl\, channels the energy of hip-hop culture through movement\, street funk\, and a mix of musical genres. Quincy views dance as a deeply spiritual and healing form of storytelling\, helping individuals express emotions and improve physical and emotional well-being. His classes focus on self-expression\, incorporating freestyle dance as a key element. Quincy invites participants to discover their unique style\, joy\, and the transformative power of dance.
