SUMMARY:Film Screening: The Holly + Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Film Screening: The Holly + Conversation\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSHOW @ 7:30PM | DOORS @ 6:30PM | SEATED SHOW \n\n\n\nFREE WITH RSVP \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented in partnership with Manaus.org’s Equity Action Project \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT Film Screening: The Holly + Conversation \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGenre: Film \n\n\n\nJoin us for a free screening of The Holly. This feature-length documentary\, filmed during the reporting of the 2022 Colorado Book Award-winner for nonfiction\, won the Audience Award at its premiere at the 2022 Telluride Mountain film festival. The film will be followed by a community conversation featuring the author/filmmaker and the film’s main subject. Signed copies of the book will be available for sale through Bookbinders. \n\n\n\nTHE HOLLY goes deep inside a gentrifying community in Denver\, where a shooting case involving an activist becomes a window into the political machinations of urban development and the city’s gang activity. \n\n\n\nTerrance Roberts is a former gang leader who appears to have escaped his past. After ten years in prison\, he returned to his historic Denver community as an activist whose work won him awards and made him the face of a high-profile redevelopment of one of the city’s civil rights landmarks\, Holly Square. But\, as the development was coming to fruition\, Roberts shocked the city by shooting a young gang member—at his own peace rally. \n\n\n\nJournalist Julian Rubinstein\, who grew up in Denver\, returns home to look into the case and finds himself caught up in a world of informants\, gang members\, activists and developers uneasily coexisting in a rapidly gentrifying community—while covertly working together on a federally funded law enforcement operation. As the city’s gang violence spikes and Roberts heads to trial facing life in prison\, dangerous truths about the cycle of violence and what happened on the day of the peace rally are revealed. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFor more on the projects see: thehollybook.com and thehollyfilm.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open @ 6:30pm // Show @ 7:30pm\n\n\n\nSeated event\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW\, and Manaus.org’s Equity Action Project

SUMMARY:Eli Paperboy Reed
DESCRIPTION:Eli Paperboy Reed\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSHOW @ 7:00PM \n\n\n\nFREE \n\n\n\nTHIS IS AN OUTDOOR EVENT AT LIONS PARK \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT Eli Paperboy Reed \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGenre: Country \n\n\n\nEli “Paperboy” Reed is a survivor. He was one of the first of the new wave of singers and songwriters to embrace unabashedly soulful music and he has been tearing up stages all over the world with his heart- stopping falsetto screams for more than a decade with no plans to slow down. From humble musical beginnings growing up outside of Boston\, at 18 Reed moved to Clarksdale\, Mississippi and cut his teeth playing and singing in juke joints all over the Delta. From there he took the well-trod path to Chicago where he spent a year as minister of music the Southside church of Soul legend Mitty Collier. \n\n\n\nStarting in 2013 Reed began teaching at an after-school music education based in Harlem called for Gospel for Teens during his breaks from touring. The program worked with at-risk youth from around the New York City area and Reed specifically began teaching these young men about Gospel Quartet music\, its history and harmony. Out of those classes emerged a new project that Reed dubbed The Harlem Gospel Travelers. He produced\, arranged and played guitar on their debut album which came out on the revered soul label Colemine records in 2019 to rave reviews. Now The Harlem Gospel Travelers are at work on their second full-length and have begun conquering festival stages as well. \n\n\n\nNow approaching the 15-year mark in his career and finishing up his 8th album\, Reed has improbably become an elder statesman of the genre\, and he’s begun seeing new artists who are taking inspiration from his unique sound. A sound that\, over everything else\, prizes feeling\, energy\, and\, yes\, Soul. \n\n\n\nLearn more about Eli Paperboy Reed: Website\, Facebook\, Instagram\, Youtube\, or Spotify. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Show @ 7:00pm\n\n\n\nOutdoor Show\n\n\n\nLocation: Lions Park Downtown Basalt // 101 Midland Ave\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW & TOWN OF BASALT

SUMMARY:Y La Bamba
DESCRIPTION:Y La Bamba\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSHOW @ 8:00PM // DOORS @ 7:00PM \n\n\n\n$22 MEMBERS // $25 ADVANCE // $35 DAY OF \n\n\n\nAt TACAW // STANDING ROOM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT Y LA BAMBA \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGenre: Indie Folk // Pop // Latin Music \n\n\n\nY La Bamba has been many things\, but at the heart of it is singer-songwriter Luz Elena Mendoza’s inquisitive sense of self. “Music is an extension of everything I have inside. It’s how I emote\,” Mendoza says. Armed with the emotionality of traditional música Mexicana and the storytelling of American folk\, Y La Bamba’s artistry is not just their musical ability but Mendoza’s search for unadulterated truth. It is in an ancestral\, spiritual journey in which Mendoza comes to terms with the influence and limitations of her upbringing. Mendoza’s experience of childhood summers in the San Joaquin Valley listening to mariachi\, of being raised strict Catholic by immigrant parents\, of being a woman having to prove herself to the boys\, paints strokes of both melancholy and healing. \n\n\n\nY La Bamba exists in the dimension of the Mexican American imagination: somewhere cynical and optimistic at the same time. While there is a celebration of the Mexican creativity that has informed Mendoza’s life\, there is a darker side to reconcile with. Where do mujeres fit in to the American story? What are the sins for which we are all guilty? How do different generations interact with the world? How can a culture become visible without tokenization? But it is not just Mendoza’s story. Challenging a narrative and dealing with the emotionality of that effort— that is everyone’s story. \n\n\n\nLearn more about Y La Bamba: Website\,  Facebook\, Instagram\, Twitter or Spotify. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMedia Sponsor \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open @ 7:00pm // Show @ 8:00pm\n\n\n\nStanding Room Show\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\nMedia Sponsor: The Sopris Sun\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW

SUMMARY:Son Volt
DESCRIPTION:SON VOLT \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDOORS @ 7:00PM \n\n\n\n$22 MEMBERS | $25 IN ADVANCE | $35 DAY OF \n\n\n\nAt TACAW | STANDING ROOM SHOW \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSPONSORED BY \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT SON VOLT \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGenre: Alt Country // Folk Rock // Americana \n\n\n\n2020 was not quite what Jay Farrar was expecting for the 25th anniversary of Son Volt\, the band he started in 1995 after leaving the seminal group Uncle Tupelo\, whose No Depression album helped define the alt-country and Americana genre. The group had just finished an Outlaw Country Cruise when the pandemic hit and sent them into their homes on lockdown. \n\n\n\nInstead of a triumphant tour marking the illustrious landmark\, Farrar was forced indoors by the pandemic\, and his “Reverie” during that time helped define Electro Melodier\, Son Volt’s 10th studio album – and third for influential Nashville indie Thirty Tigers. The title\, taken from the names of two vintage amplifiers from the late ‘40s and early ‘50s\, also describes the disc’s unique blend of folk\, country\, blues\, soul and rock – an electric troubadour with melodies that hit and stick. Social protest songs like “Living in the U.S.A.” and “The Globe\,” the former about the promises of this nation gone wrong\, the latter referencing the street protests accompanying the Black Lives Matter movement\, exist side by side with odes to long-term relationships (specifically his 25-year marriage) in “Diamonds and Cigarettes” and “Lucky Ones.” \n\n\n\nOnce again accompanied by the current Son Volt line up – keyboardist/steel guitarist Mark Spencer\, bassist Andrew Duplantis\, guitarist Chris Frame and drummer Mark Patterson – Farrar takes a slight turn from 2019’s politically pointed Union to a series of songs that asks questions rather than demanding answers – think of “Living in the U.S.A.” as Farrar’s version of Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.\,” Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” or Patti Smith’s “People Have the Power\,” an anthem to unite the populace. \n\n\n\n“I had more time to devote to and concentrate on the writing\,” says Farrar about his enforced quarantine. “We were fortunate in that we had just released Union and toured the country\, so we were off cycle. It was still a rough year\, but as a songwriter\, I was able to make the most of it.” \n\n\n\nOne listen to Electro Melodier\, which opens with “Reverie\,” describing Farrar’s contemplative state gazing out his window\, enlivened with Mark Spencer’s “Wichita Lineman” guitar riffs and the lush Big Star melodies\, and you wonder why no other rock ‘n’ roll bands or singer/songwriters are making albums like this about what we’re all going through. \n\n\n\n“I wanted to concentrate on the melodies which got me into music in the first place\,” says Farrar. “I wanted politics to take a back seat this time\, but it always seems to find a way back in there.” \n\n\n\nListen to the Moog line from The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again” channeled in “The Globe\,” or the Led Zeppelin homage in “Someday Is Now\,” the nod to gut-bucket Mississippi delta blues in the Lightnin’ Hopkins low-tuned guitar stylings of “War on Misery” or Spencer’s haunting slide on the funereal dirge of “The Levee On Down\,” which takes Andrew Jackson to task for everything from the “Trail of Tears” massacre of the Cherokees to his face on the $20 bill instead of Harriet Tubman. The environmentally conscious “Arkey Blue” nods to a honky-tonk in Bandera\, TX\, Arkey Blue’s Silver Dollar\, where Hank Williams\, Sr. allegedly carved his name into one of the wood tables\, and even quotes Pope Francis on “turbulent rains never before seen.” \n\n\n\n“I’m just asking the same question\, how can so much go wrong in a country that is held up as an example to the world of something righteous\,” explains Farrar about songs like “Living in the U.S.A.\,” in which you can hear doomsaying prophecies like Barry McGuire’s “Eve of Destruction” set to the guitar riffs of Lou Reed’s “Sweet Jane.” \n\n\n\nStill based in St. Louis (“It kinda makes sense as a central location for touring because all the interstates connect through here”)\, Farrar was born in Belleville\, IL\, where he formed Uncle Tupelo with his high school classmate Jeff Tweedy. “We had similar musical interests and took it from there\,” says Jay modestly about the groundbreaking group. \n\n\n\nFarrar is grateful to his wife of 25 years\, a sentiment which he expresses lovingly on “Diamonds and Cigarettes” – featuring vocals by country singer Laura Cantrell\, along with songs like the soulful “Lucky Ones” and “Sweet Refrain\,” a song that captures the spirit of Bentonia\, Mississippi\, home of Skip James along with name checks for local legends Jimmy “Duck” Holmes and the Bluefront Cafe. “These are the Times” was recorded entirely remotely by Zoom\, signaling one of the new methods of making music ushered in by Covid. \n\n\n\n“It’s a good time to take stock of what’s lost and what’s gained\,” said Farrar. “At this point\, we’re not even sure what we’re going to get back.” \n\n\n\nThe songs of Electro Melodier help remind us to be thankful of what we still have – new music from Jay Farrar and Son Volt. \n\n\n\n“Daylight brings the clues to the world to life/Make or break gotta do what it takes to survive.” “Sweet Refrain” \n\n\n\nLearn more about Son Volt: Website\, Facebook\, Instagram\, Twitter\, Spotify or Youtube. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT JACK BROADBENT \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn each album\, Jack Broadbent is used to people saying\, “Oh\, this is a departure from your previous stuff.” That’s something the British-born singer\, songwriter and guitarist has heard to varying degrees\, over the course of his six albums to date\, and is certainly fitting of his latest release\, RIDE. As someone who is as connected to the quality of his relationships with people as he is to the quality of his music\, rest assured he considers that a compliment. \n\n\n\n“I think there’s a lot of variety on my records. This is no different\,” Broadbent says. “I’m really getting a sense now that this idea of genre and where you fit in is not as important as it used to be — which I think is good.” \n\n\n\nBroadbent grew up in rural Lincolnshire\, England. His earliest influence\, his father\, Mick Broadbent\, plays bass on RIDE and is a well-established musician\, including a tenure with Bram Tchaikovsky. “I fell in love with music at a young age\,” he says\, informed by the steady diet of music played around the house. His father would take Broadbent to open mic nights as a youth\, and by his early teens he was playing drums in his dad’s bands. Broadbent gravitated to guitar around the same time as he became interested in song writing. \n\n\n\n“Being a drummer\, I tried to develop a very rhythmic approach to my guitar playing\,” Broadbent recalls. “What interested me was being able to hold down a groove and do some gymnastics to incorporate solos and subtle bass lines.” \n\n\n\nBroadbent’s slide guitar playing evolved from the busking he did during his early 20s. “It seemed to appeal to people as something that was both visually and musically exciting. This was interesting to me\,” Broadbent explains. “I was already playing in altered and open tunings\, so when it came to using a slide I was well-versed in how those patterns worked together.” He took some cues from influences such as John Lee Hooker and Little Feat\, but ultimately Broadbent says\, “I never really wanted to emulate anybody else’s style\, which is why I ended up going down a slightly more hard-hitting\, brash\, kind of route in my playing.” \n\n\n\nBroadbent found acclaim and an audience after the Montreux Jazz Festival hailed him as\, “The new master of the slide guitar.” Bootsy Collins famously proclaimed him\, “The real thang!” He won over more fans touring with the likes of Ronnie Wood\, Peter Frampton\, and other musical legends. \n\n\n\nLearn more about Jack Broadbent: Website\, Facebook\, Instagram\, Twitter\, AppleMusic or Youtube. \n\n\n\nVideos: \n\n\n\nRide: https://youtu.be/6W1KMdExctYMidnight Radio: https://youtu.be/1-yVES-AE1QOn the Road Again (Live): https://youtu.be/pJxkdmBm010 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open at 7:00pm\n\n\n\nSponsored by Umbrella Roofing\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: The Arts Campus At Willits

SUMMARY:The Travelin' McCourys
DESCRIPTION:The Travelin’ McCourys: \n\n\n\nThe Grateful Ball\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSHOW @ 8:00PM // DOORS @ 7:00PM // STANDING ROOM \n\n\n\n$27 MEMBERS | $30 IN ADVANCE | $40 DAY OF \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSPONSORED BY Be Hippy \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE TRAVELIN’ MCCOURYS: THE GRATEFUL BALL \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGenre: Bluegrass / Jam \n\n\n\nPlaying one set of The Travelin’ McCourys music and one set of Grateful Dead music. \n\n\n\nFrom a source deep\, abundant\, and pure\, the river flows. It’s there on the map\, marking place and time. Yet\, the river changes as it remains a constant\, carving away at the edges\, making new pathways\, gaining strength as it progresses forward. The Travelin’ McCourys are that river. \n\n\n\nThe McCoury brothers- Ronnie (mandolin) and Rob (banjo) – were born into the bluegrass tradition. Talk about a source abundant and pure: their father\, Del\, is among the most influential and successful musicians in the history of the genre. Years on the road with Dad in the Del McCoury Band honed their knife-edge chops\, and encouraged the duo to imagine how traditional bluegrass could cut innovative pathways into 21st century music. \n\n\n\n“If you put your mind\, your skills\, and your ability to it\, I think you can make just about anything work on bluegrass instruments\,” says Ronnie. “That’s a really fun part of this- figuring the new stuff out and surprising the audience.” \n\n\n\nWith fiddler Jason Carter\, bassist Alan Bartram\, and latest recruit Cody Kilby on guitar\, they assembled a group that could take what they had in their DNA\, take what traditions they learned and heard\, and push the music forward. In fact\, the band became the only group to have each of its members recognized with an International Bluegrass Music Association Award for their instrument at least once. There were peers\, too\, that could see bluegrass as both historic and progressive. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Allman Brothers Band\, improv-rock kings Phish\, and jamband contemporary Keller Williams were just a few that formed a mutual admiration society with the ensemble. \n\n\n\nThe band played the Allman’s Wanee Festival\, and guitarist Warren Haynes’ Christmas jam- an annual holiday homecoming of Southern music. An early-years jam with the Lee Boys was hailed by many as the highlight of the evening\, and with the video catching fire online\, earned a legion of new\, young fans of their supercharged combination of sacred steel\, R&B\, and bluegrass. There were unforgettable collaborations with country smash Dierks Bentley\, and onstage magic\, jamming with titans String Cheese Incident and Phish\, cutting an album with Keller (Pick)\, and creating the Grateful Ball- a tribute concert-turned-tour bridging bluegrass with the iconic music of the Grateful Dead. \n\n\n\n“That’s something that’s part of us being who we are\,” says Ronnie. “It comes\, too\, with us plugging in. It gets louder\, for sure. We can’t be another version of our dad’s band. It wouldn’t make any sense for us to do that.” \n\n\n\nTheir concerts became can’t-miss events\, whether headlining historic venues or as festival favorites\, drawing the love and respect of a growing fanbase craving their eclectic repertoire. At the 2016 edition of DelFest\, an annual gathering of the genre’s best aptly named for the McCoury patriarch\, the band delivered the take-away highlight. Rolling Stone called it “a sublime combination of rock and bluegrass\, contemporary and classic\, old and young. The best set of the festival…” The river was going new places\, getting stronger. It was time to re-draw the map. \n\n\n\n“We’ve tried to pick songs we think people are going to enjoy\,” says Ronnie. “Something we learned from our dad is that a good song is a good song. It can be done in any way.” \n\n\n\nSo arrives the long-awaited\, self-titled debut album from the quintet. A brilliantly executed set overflowing with inventive style\, stellar musicianship\, and\, of course\, plenty of burnin’ grass\, the 14-song collection is a true culmination of their decades-long journey. From the headwaters of Bill Monroe and the waves of Jerry Garcia to a sound both rooted and revolutionary\, soulful and transcending that belongs only to the Travelin’ McCourys. \n\n\n\n“The album definitely shows what we’ve evolved into as a band. And\, it’s a pretty good representation of what’s happening with the whole genre\,” says Rob. “The old bluegrass material is something I love but it’s been done many times. We’re forging ahead with our own sound. That’s what you have to do to make it all work.” \n\n\n\n…and the accolades continue to come. The Travelin’ McCourys were honored by the International Bluegrass Music Association in 2018 as the Instrumental Group of the Year. They were further feted in February 2019 with the Grammy Award for Bluegrass Album of the Year. \n\n\n\nLearn more about The Travelin’ McCourys: The Grateful Ball: Website\, Facebook\, Instagram\, Twitter\, Youtube or Spotify. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open @ 7:00pm // Show @ 8:00pm\n\n\n\nStanding Show\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW

DESCRIPTION:Nick Waterhouse\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSHOW @ 8:00PM // DOORS @ 7:00PM \n\n\n\nFree with RSVP MEMBERS // Free with RSVP ADVANCE // $5 DAY OF \n\n\n\nAt TACAW // STANDING ROOM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT NICK WATERHOUSE \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGenre: R&B // Soul // Jazz \n\n\n\nJoin us for a high-energy retro soul tinged evening. FOR FREE! Nick Waterhouse brings a powerful 8 piece band to TACAW to get us all moving. \n\n\n\nNick grew up in a coastal town near Long Beach\, CA. It was a serene setting: the ocean stretching out for miles to the North and South\, manicured lawns\, two-story homes\, long swathes of concrete highway\, fast food chains and mega malls. He was there for two decades. Then\, he left. \n\n\n\nHe found a home in his early 20s in San Francisco\, working at record stores alongside a collective of like minded young crate-diggers and 45 collectors. And then he started making his own records: “Time’s All Gone” in 2012\, “Holly” in 2014\, “Never Twice” in 2016\, “Nick Waterhouse” in 2019. These were evocative albums\, steeped in a perfectionism and clarity of vision that informed every choice\, from the studios to the players\, the arrangements to the album art. Everything\, deliberately designed and purposeful\, bubbling over with power and feeling. And as those records rolled out into the world\, Waterhouse found a dedicated audience of his own as well as a bevy of influential champions and collaborators\, including garage-rock mystic Ty Segall\, retro-futurist R&B bandleader Leon Bridges and the LA-based quartet Allah-Las\, whose first two albums he meticulously produced and played on. There is a “Waterhouse Sound” and it comes from both the man and the method — recording everything on magnet- ic tape\, through analog equipment\, and playing live (!)\, eyeball to eyeball\, whenever possible. \n\n\n\nNow\, he’s finished his fifth album. Nick Waterhouse takes the color blue as his hue of choice as he takes a spiritual look to the past on new album\, ‘Promenade Blue’ due out April 9 on Innovative Leisure. \n\n\n\nThe new collection sparkles beatifically\, reverberating with energy\, heart\, creativity\, and vibe from start to finish. Nowhere is this more evident than on the album’s opening track\, “Place Names\,” bringing teenaged memories to the forefront\, pondering the pride he takes in his hometown and the distinct life that he has made (or that has made him). A soulful\, sweeping arrangement punctuated with Girl Group backing vocals\, “Place Names” which would find itself at home in a vibrant New Orlean’s club or alongside contemporaries Marlon Williams and The Budos Band. \n\n\n\nLearn more about Nick Waterhouse: Website\, Instagram\, Facebook or Spotify. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open @ 7:00pm // Show @ 8:00pmStanding Room ShowLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW

OKC-based songwriters Danny Davis and Wil Norton got their start directing a Godzilla musical at their college and then began sharing snippets of lofi grunge pop ideas that became their first album. \n\n\n\nFeatured on NPR’s Heavy Rotation and numerous Spotify editorial playlists\, the band also dabbles in no wave and nineties-inspired pop\, recommended if you like anything from Fleetwood Mac to MGMT\, Beach House to the Beach Boys. Lyrically\, songwriters Danny Davis and Wil Norton tackle what it means to be punk while working a nine-to-five and trying to find zen in an anxious world. \n\n\n\nPRESS QUOTES: \n\n\n\n“Rousing surf rock guitar line[s] and catchy harmonizing that goes down like a crisp summer shandy.” \n\n\n\n— Matt Carney\, NPR KOSU’s Sample Size \n\n\n\n “A highly listenable\, breezy piece of summer perfection … Take all the surfiest moments of Weezer’s ‘Blue Album\,’ and you might get close to the sound of Oklahoma City’s most exciting band this year.” \n\n\n\n— Nathan Poppe\, The Oklahoman   \n\n\n\n“It’s difficult to really pinpoint why it captivates … but the proof\, as they say\, is in the pudding\, and … you’ll be left wondering how you made it so far through this dulled summer without ‘Stay Gold’ by your side.” \n\n\n\n— Tom Johnson\, Gold Flake Paint [UK] \n\n\n\n“Delicious\, jangly pop … quintessential summer pop that glistens with the promise of more lovely things to come.” \n\n\n\n— Swell Tone Music \n\n\n\nLearn more about Husbands: Website\, Facebook\, Instagram\, Twitter\, or Spotify. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open @ 7:00pm // Show @ 8:00pm\n\n\n\nStanding Room Show\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621

Even though her voice lessons were Italian Opera\, her passion and practice was jazz. At the age of 18 she was the youngest person to perform with the Argentine National Jazz Orchestra. She moved to the U.S. 21 years ago and for the last 13 years she has been performing in the Roaring Fork Valley. The music performed by Josefina combines rhythms\, melodies\, and different performance traditions that surpass the boundaries between language and culture. \n\n\n\nWalter Gorra – Piano \n\n\n\nWalter Gorra is an award-winning pianist\, composer and arranger based out of the New York/New Jersey metro area. Currently 28 years old\, Walter graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder Magna Cum Laude and High Honors in May 2017 with the following three degrees – MS Structural engineering\, BM Jazz Piano and BS Civil Engineering. In Walter’s own words “music is a way to express oneself in a way that is often more powerful than words. Through my compositions and my playing I can describe people\, places and experiences in the best way that I can. My debut album\, ‘In Due Time\,’ is really a snapshot of many of the events and people that have influenced me as a musician and as a person.” \n\n\n\nIn 2015\, Walter was one of 30 young artists selected by KUVO during their 30th Anniversary year\, as part of their “30 Under 30” campaign given them the spotlight and opportunity to have their audience become acquainted with them and their music. In February of 2015\, Walter received a grant from the Boettcher Foundation to present and play with NEA Jazz Master Paquito D’Rivera in a master class and concert. The group\, “The Walter Gorra Septet” played with Paquito D’Rivera at the KUVO radio studios in Denver\, at the University of Colorado Boulder during a masterclass\, and at the Mount Vernon Country Club in Denver. \n\n\n\n Gonzalo Teppa – Bass \n\n\n\n2 time Latin Grammy Nominee for “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album” and “Best Latin Jazz Album”\, for work on the recordings “Tiempo” by Linda Briceño; and “3rd Element” by Luisito Quintero. \n\n\n\nNamed “Best Jazz Soloist” by Downbeat Magazine in 2004\, 2005\, and 2006. \n\n\n\nReceived “Best Jazz Soloist” award at the Greeley Jazz Festival in 2004 and 2005. \n\n\n\nPerformed with: Wynton Marsalis\, Jeff “Tain” Watts\, Matt Wilson\, Ed Simon\, Chris Potter\, Tom Harrell\, Ron Miles\, Art Lande\, Slide Hampton\, Don Byron\, Jeremy Pelt\, Ben Goldberg\, and others. \n\n\n\nAlejandro Castaño – Drums \n\n\n\nAlejandro Castaño is an active performer and educator in the United States and abroad. There have been many members of The Samples\, but Sean Kelly has been the consistent factor throughout all of the changes. \n\n\n\n33 years after starting his full-fledged music career with The Samples\, Sean Kelly continues to delight fans with music that transcends genres\, age and shatters the rules of the established music industry. Throughout his career\, Sean has been the driving influence of 20 albums and over 1 million records sold. \n\n\n\nSean started playing guitar at age 16 listening to Neil Young\, Rolling Stones and Jackson Browne. Those influences mixed with his own poignant and timeless lyrics\, a unique and striking voice and a mind for melodies led to songs like Little Silver Ring\, Feel Us Shaking and Wild River. For many fans\, these aren’t new songs or old songs\, but anthems to their lives that represent the first time they met their wife or the joys of their times at college. \n\n\n\nSean’s journeys across America have taken place in rental cars\, tour buses and pickup trucks that would have literally taken him to the moon and back over the last quarter of a century. There is a lot of music in store in 2022 and beyond from Sean Kelly and The Samples. \n\n\n\nLearn more about The Samples:  Facebook\, Instagram or Spotify. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open @ 7:00pm // Show @ 8:00pm\n\n\n\nStanding Room Show\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW

It was named #7 on the No Depression Readers’“50 Favorite Roots Music Albums of 2020” with the publication saying\, “Eloquent and plain spoken\, the excellent Agricultural Tragic finds the affable country rocker exploring his roots as a rancher and rodeo rider while striving to adapt this traditional identity to the challenging modern world… Corb Lund radiates authenticity from first note to last. “The Associated Press said” The result is a distinctive sound—call it Country & Northwestern—that romances the region from which Lund hails\,” American Songwriter stated\, “The songs on Agricultural Tragic sparkle with a kind of authenticity that only someone who lives that life can project” while Saving Country Music said it was “…some of the most compelling country and western music you can find. ”Stay tuned for more music imminently on the horizon for Lund. \n\n\n\nLearn more about Corb Lund: Website\, Facebook\, Instagram\, Twitter\, Youtube or Spotify. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open @ 7:00pm // Show @ 8:00pm\n\n\n\nStanding Show\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW

SUMMARY:Esmé Patterson
DESCRIPTION:Esmé Patterson\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDOORS @ 7:00PM \n\n\n\n$1 MEMBERS | $20 IN ADVANCE | $30 DAY OF \n\n\n\nAt TACAW | SEATED SHOW \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT Esmé Patterson \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGenre: Songwriter / Indie \n\n\n\nEsmé Patterson is a songwriter\, gambler\, singer\, lover\, thinker\, and explorer. She began as a member of the Denver Folk Pop septet\, Paper Bird\, and has since released four records as a solo act. The New York Times describes her voice as “wiry and candid” with songs that “hint at mystery and mortality”. Esmé Patterson’s fourth studio album\, There Will Come Soft Rains\, is named after the Sara Teasdale poem of the same name which inspired Ray Bradbury’s sci-fi short story collection The Martian Chronicles. \n\n\n\nThere Will Come Soft Rains revolves around the constant cycle of creation and destruction. A process that Patterson felt reflected the sonic direction she started moving in on 2016’s We Were Wild\, and which she delves deeper into on her newest effort\, and first for BMG. “It’s about how life continues on this planet after humans inevitably wipe ourselves out\,” the Denver-based artist says. “The songs echo the surrender of starting over and failing and starting over again many times. I was hoping to convey the bittersweet peace of letting go alongside the courage to start again\, being swallowed by fear and pain and coming out the other side stronger.” \n\n\n\nThe album follows the Grand Jury Music release of 2016’s critically acclaimed We Were Wild and marks her new partnership with BMG. Patterson got her start in the mid-aughts with her band Paper Bird and went on to release her first solo album\, All Princes\, I\, in 2012. She began touring with Shakey Graves in 2014\, in between albums and her own tours\, and co-wrote three songs for his 2014 album\, And The War Came\, while also releasing her “defiant and witty” (The Guardian) second solo album Woman To Woman in 2015. Patterson has frequently collaborated with the likes of Craig Finn\, William Elliot Whitmore\, William Ryan Fitch and many more. \n\n\n\nPatterson’s music is constantly evolving but that has never been as obvious and crucial as it is on There Will Come Soft Rains. Jangly guitars and glowing synths build on the direction of We Were Wild and mark a stark transition from the folkier sound of her previous works. Raw vocals lay bare against fellow Denver duo Tennis’ shiny production and surfy dream pop. For the album Patterson and Tennis holed up in the band’s garage for 12 days in 2018 in the scorching hot Denver summer to record the album\, but she has been conceptualizing it since 2015. “I feel like I’ve been continually rising from the ashes\,” she says. “Being born and dying again.” \n\n\n\nOver ten songs\, Patterson yearns for true love\, bemoans sexual frustration and capitalism\, questions the afterlife\, and ponders suicidal ideation. The album opens with the ectastic “Shelby Tell Me Everything” a “sweet and innocent gay love song”. She wrote “Out The Door\,” a deceptively upbeat meditation on what happens to our souls when we die\, while living with her dying grandmother. The dusty and delicate guitar-led “Momentito” is about living in the present\, surrendering to what we can and can’t control. \n\n\n\nThe darkest moment and brightest light come in the middle of the tracklist. The twinkly piano number “All Mine” takes us back to when Patterson lived in a motel room by the highway. “I was dealing with constant suicidal thoughts for several months\, and through writing\, writing this song specifically\, I found an anchor\,” she says. “I knew at the center of my being…that I was enough\, that I was ok\, that I could take suicide off the table permanently\, and never go back\, that I was fine being all mine and loneliness too shall pass\, it comes and goes\, and there is beauty to be found in all of it.” \n\n\n\nThroughout her new album Esme Patterson weaves in and out of overtly personal stories of love and loss\, but true to the namesake of There Will Come Soft Rains\, and in the tradition of classic sci-fi\, she looks towards the future with tenacity and a passionate resolve to see what comes next. Always with an eye on the optimistic\, the end of pain and struggle\, Esme’s songs are imbued with acceptance and hope. Patterson knows\, and wants us all to remember\, that these cycles are natural\, our highs compliment our lows but the beauty of life is finding balance between the two. Patterson’s There Will Come Soft Rains is out now. \n\n\n\nLearn more about Esmé Patterson: Website\, Facebook\, Instagram\, Twitter\, YouTube\, or Spotify. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open at 7:00pm\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: The Arts Campus At Willits

But for Todd Snider\, his latest release\, First Agnostic Church of Hope and Wonder (2021)\, isn’t so much a sudden change in direction as an arrival after years of searching. \n\n\n\nSince debuting in 1994\, Snider has gone through his own incarnations. His first single “Talking Seattle Blues” was a head fake that might’ve pointed to goofy novelty songs. But he quickly showed that his artistic quiver was much deeper and more interesting. A storyteller who works a similar creative soil to John Prine and Shel Silverstein\, Snider’s best songs are both sad and funny\, political and entertaining\, and always written with a poet’s eye and a stand-up comedian’s sensibility about the follies of human condition. \n\n\n\nWhile he’s made twenty fine albums\, it’s on stage where Snider is even more potent\, with between-song banter that weaves subtle emotional threads through his sets. A road dog who loves the road\, Snider has toured with Emmylou Harris\, John Prine\, Jimmy Buffett\, and appeared at festivals like Farm Aid\, Newport Folk Fest\, Lockn’ and Telluride Bluegrass Festival. \n\n\n\nSnider was born in Portland\, Oregon\, and lived there until his family moved to Houston\, Texas. When he was 15\, he ran away from home with a friend and went back to Portland. After high school\, he moved to Santa Rosa\, California\, to be a harmonica player. Then his brother\, who lived in Austin\, Texas\, bought him a ticket to come live there. After seeing Jerry Jeff Walker in a local bar\, Snider decided that he didn’t need a band to be a musician. \n\n\n\nAfter moving to Memphis\, Tennessee\, in the mid-1980s and establishing residency at a club named the Daily Planet\, he was discovered by Keith Sykes\, a member of Jimmy Buffett‘s Coral Reefer Band. A longtime acquaintance of John Prine and Walker\, Sykes began to work with Snider to help advance his career. Prine hired him as an assistant and then invited him to open shows. In time\, Buffett heard Snider’s demo tapes and signed him to his own label. On his music\, Snider has said “I was just trying to come up with the best … most open hearted … well-thought-out lyrics I could come up with. I wanted every song to be sad and funny at the same time\, vulnerable and entertaining at the same time\, personal and universal at the same time. I wanted every song to be as uniquely written as possible and then I wanted to perform them in a studio loose and rugged and hopefully as uniquely as I could. My hope is to be hard to describe and/or new … I’m not saying I am. I’m just saying that’s the hope.” \n\n\n\nSnider has been touring for close to thirty years and will continue to make the road his home for the foreseeable future with another live album forthcoming in 2022. \n\n\n\nLearn more about TODD SNIDER: Website\, Facebook\, Instagram\, Youtube or Spotify. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT DANIEL RODRIGUEZ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDaniel Rodriguez is a singer-songwriter from Lyons\, Colorado. He was a founding member of the band Elephant Revival\, and in 2019 he began touring under his own name and released his first EP\, ‘Your Heart The Stars The Milky Way’ (2019).  His first full album\, ‘Sojourn of the Burning Sun\,’ was released in Summer 2020. \n\n\n\nLearn more about Daniel Rodriguez: Website\, Facebook\, or Instagram. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open at 7:00pm\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSPONSORED BY Be Hippy \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: The Arts Campus At Willits

IV features over a dozen musicians including Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov\, Luke Mossman of Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats\, and Bluebook’s Julie Davis.  \n\n\n\nBandwagon magazine writes that in IV\, Covenhoven reaches “into chamber pop territory\, and revealing a wider vocal range…sheltered by a gorgeous\, rich string and piano accompaniment\, whisks us above the campfire folk…”   \n\n\n\nCovenhoven’s live performances capture the spirit of his recordings—whether its conjuring cascading loops in his solo shows or backed by a full band—Covenhoven’s sound fills the breadth of outdoor spaces\, auditoriums and club stages. \n\n\n\nRegularly touring the United States\, Covenhoven has shared the stage with Grammy winners and nominees S.Carey (Bon Iver)\, Jose Gonzalez\, Gregory Alan Isakov\, and John Paul White (Civil Wars). Covenhoven has also performed with genre bending artists Lord Huron\, Leif Vollebekk\, Joshua James\, Blind Pilot\, Esme Patterson\, John Craigie\, Daniel Rodriguez (Elephant Revival)\, Shook Twins\, Reed Foehl\, Rainbow Girls\, Joan Shelley and host of others.  \n\n\n\nCovenhoven songs have been streamed 3 million times and reached over 14 million people through television shows including: Ordinary Joe\, 13 Reasons Why\, Nashville\, Teen Wolf\, Home Before Dark\, Flaked\, Kevin Probably Saves the World\, and Private Eyes—Canada’s most watched show for 5 years. \n\n\n\nLearn more about Covenhoven: Website\, Facebook\, Instagram\, Twitter\, YouTube\, or Spotify. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open at 7:00pm\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: The Arts Campus At Willits

DESCRIPTION:Andy Frasco & the U.N. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOPENING ACT: ERIC HALBORG \n\n\n\nDOORS @ 7:00PM \n\n\n\n$22 MEMBERS | $25 IN ADVANCE | $35 DAY OF \n\n\n\nAt TACAW | STANDING ROOM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT ANDY FRASCO & THE U.N. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGenre: Blues Rock \n\n\n\nBorn and raised in California\, Frasco’s first exposure to the music industry came not onstage\, but rather in an office. As a young teenager\, he worked with legendary indie label Drive-Thru Records and helped book bands like Hello Goodbye\, and by the time he turned 18\, he’d already moved to New York City for a gig with Atlantic Records. When the job fell through\, though\, Frasco made a leap of faith and decided to launch his own career as an artist\, taking everything he’d learned working with other bands and applying it to himself. \n\n\n\nInitially\, Frasco hired local pickup musicians off of Craigslist to back him for gigs\, but soon he put together a steady(ish) lineup\, and Andy Frasco & The U.N. began taking the world by storm. The group would release a series of acclaimed records\, share bills with the likes of Leon Russell\, Galactic\, Gary Clark\, Jr.\, The Revivalists\, and Marcus King among others\, and slay festival stages everywhere from Mountain Jam in the U.S. to Rock am Ring in Germany and COTAI Jazz & Blues in China (this summer\, Frasco will perform at multiple summer festivals including Summer Camp\, FloydFest and hopefully many more to be announced). NME hailed the constantly evolving group as “party-starting touring stalwarts\,” while Relix praised their “raucous energy\,” and Clash lauded their live show as a “nightly high-octane experience that doubles as a celebration of life and music…energized by a powerfully entertaining multi-cultural soundtrack that will shake the foundations of all nearby structures.” \n\n\n\nEvery party has to end sometime\, though\, and while it seemed Frasco was living out his rock and roll dreams on his 2019 and early 2020 tours\, he was facing an internal darkness few knew about. \n\n\n\n“I hit a breaking point\,” he explains. “I was sitting alone in my van\, and I realized that I didn’t know who my friends were. Worse\, I didn’t know who I was. I was drinking too much\, I was addicted to cocaine\, and I was dealing with really heavy depression. I even contemplated suicide\, but I decided that if I’m fortunate enough to leave behind a legacy\, I didn’t want to be remembered just as some good-time party guy. I wanted to show people that I’m more than the crowd-surfing\, Jameson-drinking maniac they see onstage.” \n\n\n\nFrasco began writing poetry that eventually became songs. He wrote about despair and anxiety\, about friendship and growth\, about accountability and potential\, transforming the poems into defiant rock and roll anthems. These songs became his most recent album ‘Keep On Keeping On’ released at the beginning of the pandemic in April of 2020. \n\n\n\nLike many\, the pandemic hit Andy hard. He was once again feeling that ‘breaking point’ and he quickly transformed his high energy road show into a year long digital blitz of new music\, a 33 episode variety show (Andy Frasco’s World Saving ShitShow) which garnered 20 millions views\, a highly attended digital Dance Party and Andy further developed his already successful and compelling podcast (Andy Frasco’s World Saving Podcast). His variety show and podcast included interviews and musical performances by many notable guests such as Tony Hawk\, Kurt Vile\, Nathaniel Rateliff\, Kamasi Washington\, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and more. \n\n\n\nAdditionally\, Frasco recently scored ‘The Great Depresh\,’ an HBO documentary about Gary Gulman exploring the comic’s struggles with depression that was produced by Judd Apatow and directed by Mike Bonfiglio) \n\n\n\nLearn more about Andy Frasco: Website\, Facebook\, Instagram\, Twitter or Video “Wash\, Rinse\, Repeat”. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT ERIC HALBORG \n\n\n\nDenver-based musician and visual/graphic artist Eric Halborg’s musical path runs from his days fronting and playing bass in the post-punk band The Swayback\, to his current rhythm guitar\, harmonica and lead vocal role for the psych-blues soul band Dragondeer.  Along the way Halborg has toured across the US and internationally\, recorded a record with legendary British producer Andy Johns (Rolling Stones\, Led Zeppelin\, Television)\, and had his music featured in TV shows like Preacher\, Shameless\, and Burn Notice as well as a Ralph Lauren ad campaign. In each step of the journey the focus and momentum has been propelled by Halborg’s songwriting: artful takes on everyday occurrences\, sometimes dark but often landing in a place of hope. In his solo performances\, the sparse instrumentation of only his voice\, acoustic guitar and harmonica allows for a direct connection with his audience and a focused window into the essence of the songs. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn more about ERIC HALBORG: Spotify\, Facebook\, Instagram \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open at 7:00pmLocation: TACAW 400 Robinson Street in Willits\, the cross street is Market\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: The Arts Campus At Willits
