It didn’t seem to do much good\, though. For\, after a shaky\, lopsided battle between piano lessons and baseball (he was a mediocre pianist and an all-star catcher)\, he had “found his voice” thanks to a cheap mail-order guitar and a used book of chords. \n\n\n\nFrom such inauspicious beginnings\, John McCutcheon has emerged as one of our most respected and loved folksingers. As an instrumentalist\, he is a master of a dozen different traditional instruments\, most notably the rare and beautiful hammer dulcimer. His songwriting has been hailed by critics and singers around the globe. His thirty recordings have garnered every imaginable honor including seven Grammy nominations. He has produced over twenty albums of other artists\, from traditional fiddlers to contemporary singer-songwriters to educational and documentary works. His books and instructional materials have introduced budding players to the joys of their own musicality. And his commitment to grassroots political organizations has put him on the front lines of many of the issues important to communities and workers. \n\n\n\nEven before graduating summa cum laude from Minnesota’s St. John’s University\, this Wisconsin native literally “headed for the hills\,” forgoing a college lecture hall for the classroom of the eastern Kentucky coal camps\, union halls\, country churches\, and square dance halls. His apprenticeship to many of the legendary figures of Appalachian music imbedded a love of homemade music and a sense of community and rootedness. The result is music…whether traditional or from his huge catalog of original songs…with the profound mark of place\, family\, and strength. It also created a storytelling style that has been compared to Will Rogers and Garrison Keillor. \n\n\n\nThe Washington Post described John as folk music’s “Rustic Renaissance Man\,” a moniker flawed only by its understatement. “Calling John McCutcheon a ‘folksinger’ is like saying Deion Sanders is just a football player…” (Dallas Morning News). Besides his usual circuit of major concert halls and theaters\, John is equally at home in an elementary school auditorium\, a festival stage or at a farm rally. He is a whirlwind of energy packing five lifetimes into one. In the past few years alone he has headlined over a dozen different festivals in North America (including repeated performances at the National Storytelling Festival)\, recorded an original composition for Virginia Public Television involving over 500 musicians\, toured Australia for the sixth time\, toured Chile in support of a women’s health initiative\, appeared in a Woody Guthrie tribute concert in New York City\, gave a featured concert at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival\, taught performance art skills at a North Carolina college\, given symphony pops concerts across America\, served as President of the fastest-growing Local in the Musicians Union and performed a special concert at the National Baseball Hall of Fame. This is all in his “spare time.” His “real job\,” he’s quick to point out\, is father to two grown sons. \n\n\n\nBut it is in live performance that John feels most at home. It is what has brought his music into the lives and homes of one of the broadest audiences any folk musician has ever enjoyed. People of every generation and background seem to feel at home in a concert hall when John McCutcheon takes the stage\, with what critics describe as “little feats of magic\,” “breathtaking in their ease and grace…\,” and “like a conversation with an illuminating old friend.” \n\n\n\nWhether in print\, on record\, or on stage\, few people communicate with the versatility\, charm\, wit\, or pure talent of John McCutcheon. \n\n\n\nLearn more: Website | Facebook | Twitter \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSUPPER CLUB & SHOW TICKETS\n\n\n\nSHOW ONLY TICKETS\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open for Supper Club @ 5:45pm // Supper Club served at 6:00pm\n\n\n\nDoors open @ 7:30PM // Show @ 8:00PM\n\n\n\nSeated Show\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW

Her debut album I Need to Start a Garden seamlessly contrasts her unconventional tunings and American-Primitive-inspired fingerpicking with enveloping sonic outbursts. Lead by her raw\, immersive vocals\, the Portland songwriter’s music defies categorization. NPR called her “an utterly distinct and wonderfully nervy\, idiosyncratic presence\,” while Stereogum named the album “one of the most intriguing and immersive debuts of the year.” \n\n\n\nLearn more: Website | Instagram | Facebook | Youtube | Spotify \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT LéPonds \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLéPonds aka Lisa Houdei is a folk singer-songwriter based in Topanga Canyon\, just north of Los Angeles. They hold the record for the longest-running comedies in the history of London’s West End as three of its shows ran in repertory at the Criterion Theatre in Piccadilly Circus for almost ten years. Known as the “Bad Boys of Abridgment\,” the RSC has performed at the White House\, Lincoln Center\, Off-Broadway\, the Kennedy Center\, and Montreal’s famed Just For Laughs Festival \n\n\n\nThe Complete History of Comedy (abridged) answers the fundamental questions: \n\n\n\n\nWhich is the least funny nationality? Which is the funniest? Why did the former try to exterminate the latter?\n\n\n\nHow do critics describe everything in a way to make it sound unfunny? (“First of all\, the premise is weak. No one would ever believe that a baseball team would actually have a first baseman named “Who.”)\n\n\n\nWhy\, in fact\, did the chicken cross the road?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets to The Complete History of Comedy (abridged) are far more affordable than tickets to an amusement park\, but you’ll come away with the same feeling of nausea and motion sickness. From cavemen telling “Rock Rock” jokes to Will Smith upset at Chris Rock’s jokes and everything in-between\, the bad boys of abridgement leave no joke untold as they deconstruct the entire history of comedy in 90 rollicking minutes. \n\n\n\nThey’ve skewered history\, the Bible and the world’s most celebrated playwright. Now\, the Reduced Shakespeare Company tackles the subject it was born to reduce. From the high-brow to the low\, The Complete History of Comedy (abridged) covers comedy through the ages\, from Aristophanes and Shakespeare and Moliere (Is Moliere funny? Why not?) to Vaudeville and Charlie Chaplin to The Daily Show and Anthony Weiner. \n\n\n\nCONTENT ADVISORY: In the spirit of Shakespeare’s comedies\, RSC shows contain comic depictions of violence\, mild innuendo\, bawdy language\, and the occasional rude word. All children (and parents) are different\, so we’ve chosen to rate our shows PG-13: Pretty Good If You’re Thirteen. \n\n\n\nLearn more about The Reduced Shakespeare Company: Website | Facebook | Instagram | \n\n\n\nThis show is YOUTH ART PASS applicable. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSUPPER CLUB & SHOW TICKETS\n\n\n\nSHOW ONLY TICKETS\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open for Supper Club @ 5:45pm | Supper Club served at 6:00pm\n\n\n\nDoors open for show @ 7:30pm | Show @ 8:00pm\n\n\n\nUnderwritten by NeuroSpa | Media Sponsor Aspen Public Radio\n\n\n\nSEATED SHOW | ALL AGES\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW

This is their story\, and where we all find ourselves 150+ years after that unprecedented exploration. \n\n\n\nSince 1996\, Roaring Fork Conservancy has inspired people to explore\, value\, and protect the Roaring Fork Watershed. We bring people together to protect our rivers and work to keep water in our rivers\, monitor water quality\, and preserve riparian habitat. \n\n\n\nAs one of the largest watershed organizations in Colorado\, Roaring Fork Conservancy serves residents and visitors throughout the Roaring Fork Valley through school and community-based Watershed Education programs and Watershed Science and Policy projects including regional watershed planning\, water resource policy initiatives\, stream management and restoration. \n\n\n\nLearn more: Website | Facebook | Instagram | Youtube \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\nDoors open @ 6:30pm | Show @ 7:00pm\n\n\n\nSeated Show | ALL AGES\n\n\n\nPresented in Partnership with Roaring Fork Conservancy\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW & Roaring Fork Conservancy

DESCRIPTION:Jackie Greene (Duo)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSHOW @ 8:00PM | DOORS @ 7:00PM \n\n\n\n$30 MEMBERS | $45 IN ADVANCE | $55 DAY OF \n\n\n\nSEATED SHOW | ALL AGES \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSPONSORED BY \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT Jackie Greene (Duo) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGenre: Americana / Roots \n\n\n\nAmericana and roots singer-songwriter Jackie Greene is a jack-of-all-trades\, and an artist who can croon over soulful piano ballads as much as he can shred a bluesy guitar solo (like he did as the lead guitarist for The Black Crowes in 2013). A road warrior and musician’s musician\, Greene’s last EP ‘The Modern Lives – Vol 2’ on Blue Rose Music) finds him at a new chapter in his life: his first months of fatherhood\, time off his relentless touring circuit\, and a cross-country move from Brooklyn to his birthplace of Northern California. \n\n\n\nThis new collection of six original songs is a thematic extension of ‘The Modern Lives – Vol 1’ EP on Blue Rose Music)\, imbued with a Brooklyn basement DIY feel and ethos. He is a student of American music\, transfixed upon its progression through time\, as well as how regional sounds fit in a contemporary context. Whereas ‘Vol 1’ saw Greene experiment with the Delta blues as a canvas for his examinations of modern society\, ‘Vol 2’ sees Greene embrace the sounds of the bluegrass and folk tapes of his youth. \n\n\n\nSince the release of his critically-acclaimed debut album ‘Gone Wanderin’’\, Greene has built an enduring audience through a relentless touring schedule with the likes of BB King\, Mark Knopfler\, Susan Tedeschi\, and Taj Mahal. He played lead guitar with The Black Crowes on their Layin’ Down With #13 World Tour\, recorded and toured with Trigger Hippy – his supergroup with Joan Osborne – and in the last four years performed over 300 shows of his own\, all while continuing to record and release his solo work. Greene is a frequent member of Phil Lesh & Friends\, and sits in with countless other artists including Tedeschi Trucks Band\, Govt Mule\, Mississippi All-Stars\, Amy Helm\, Steve Earle\, and Bob Weir. \n\n\n\nLearn more: Website | Instagram | Facebook | Spotify | Youtube \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open @ 7:00pm | Show @ 8:00pm\n\n\n\nSeated Show | All Ages\n\n\n\nSponsored by BeHippy\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW

SUMMARY:Jake Blount & Kaia Kater
DESCRIPTION:Jake Blount & Kaia Kater\n\n\n\ncanceled \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT Jake Blount \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGenre: Roots | Americana \n\n\n\nA powerfully gifted musician and a scholar of Black American music\, Jake Blount speaks ardently about the African roots of the banjo and the subtle\, yet profound ways African Americans have shaped and defined the amorphous categories of roots music and Americana. His 2020 album Spider Tales (named one of the year’s best albums by NPR and The New Yorker\, earned a perfect 5-star review from The Guardian) highlighted the Black and Indigenous histories of popular American folk tunes\, as well as revived songs unjustly forgotten in the whitewashing of the canon. Jake Blount’s new album\, The New Faith\, is a towering achievement of dystopian Afrofuturism and his first album for Smithsonian Folkways (coming September 23\, 2022). The New Faith is spiritual music\, filled with hope for salvation and righteous anger in equal measure. The album manifests our worst fears on the shores of an island in Maine\, where Blount enacts an imagined religious ceremony performed by Black refugees after the collapse of global civilization due to catastrophic climate change. Jake Blount’s music is rooted in care and confrontation. On stage\, each song he and his band play is chosen for a reason – because it highlights important elements about the stories we tell ourselves of our shared history and our endlessly complicated present moment. The more we learn about where we’ve been\, the better equipped we are to face the future.  \n\n\n\nLearn more: Website | Instagram | Facebook | Spotify \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT Kaia Kater \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGenre: Roots | Americana \n\n\n\nKaia draws on her diverse influences in Quebec\, the Caribbean\, and Appalachia\, bringing them together to present an exciting musical direction. Known for her prowess as a songwriter and tradition bearer who performs with “the skill of a folk-circuit veteran” (Rolling Stone)\, the Grenadian-Canadian artist took a decidedly different direction for Grenades. What started out as a search to discover the roots of her identity became a physical and emotional exploration of history\, in particular her paternal ancestry\, and has led to bold new heights of imagination and creative expression.   \n\n\n\nLearn more: Website | Instagram | Facebook | Spotify \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open @ 7:00pm | Show @ 8:00pm\n\n\n\nSeated Show | All Ages\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW

In January 2021\, Ingram was simultaneously on the covers of both Guitar World and DownBeat magazines\, and graced the cover of Living Blues in late 2020. Rolling Stone declared\, “Kingfish is one of the most exciting young guitarists in years\, with a sound that encompasses B.B. King\, Jimi Hendrix and Prince.” \n\n\n\nIn the two years since Kingfish was released\, there have been major events that have altered his life both personally and professionally. “There has been much change\, happiness and despair in my life\,” Ingram says of his last two years. Right as his career was taking off\, he lost his mother and biggest champion\, the late Princess Pride Ingram. Christone toured for 13 months non-stop\, until the pandemic halted live performances and forced him to take stock. As he was thinking about the man he was becoming and the new directions his life was taking\, he began writing songs for his next album\, 662. The number 662 is the telephone area code for Ingram’s northern Mississippi home\, and it first came into use the same year he was born—1999. \n\n\n\n“The world was introduced to me with Kingfish\,” Ingram says of his chart-topping debut. “Now with 662\, I want the world to hear and meet a different\, more personal side of me.” The album—recorded in Nashville and co-written and produced (as was Kingfish) by Grammy-winner Tom Hambridge—features 13 songs displaying many sides of Ingram’s dynamic personality\, as well as his one-of-a-kind guitar and vocal skills. According to Ingram\, “662 is a direct reflection of my growth as a musician\, a songwriter\, a bandleader\, and as a young man. This album was written during the pandemic\, shortly after I returned home from a whirlwind year and a half of touring and promoting Kingfish. It was an incredible time of change and growth\, moments both good and bad\, and I am a better and stronger person for it.” \n\n\n\nLearn more about Christone “Kingfish” Ingram: Website | Instagram | Facebook | Youtube | Twitter | Spotify \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS\n\n\n\nVIEW CALENDAR\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open @ 7:30pm | Show @ 8:00pm\n\n\n\nSTANDING ROOM ONLY | ALL AGES\n\n\n\nLocation: TACAW\, 400 Robinson St\, Basalt\, CO 81621\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented By: TACAW
